A gay son because DUH there isn't anything wrong or sinful about being gay. And also since its soo hard to be gay today b/c of so many religious fanatics gay people are generally very open minded and accepting of everyone. AND most importantly they have a good working brain on their shoulders and they won't allow themselves to be brainwashed.
If I had a born again son I would...wow I don't know what I'd do. I'd try to help him.

Hmmm. Are you basing this question on the premise that both are choices? Or just simply on personal preference, I would personally prefer a healthy son with a healthy mind, if he decides to be gay, well, I would disown him like any other red blooded American man. But I would quickly come to my senses and acept him as an adult capable of making his own choices. If he decided to become a born again christian, I would know that it is just a phase and not worry, my son has been taught critical thinking skills.

I would have the born again son especially if he had told me he was gay. I am not trying to be offesive but I do not believe that gay people are born that way. There is no evidence in the Bible that this is true. There is evidence that God gave people over to their sinful desires of man for man and woman for woman. As He calls it derpaved minds to do the unthinkable. It is in 1Corinthians 6; 9-20. Yes they are God's children just gone astray as many of us are guilty of sin , some is worse than than others.

Gay son. I'd much prefer someone who has the guts to show the world their true self than to hide in the mythology and superstitions of a 2000 year old cult-ure.

I would prefer a gay son. I don't dislike all Christians, yet I think I would be disappointed if one of my children chose to become anything other than secular. I plan to raise all my children as agnostics, then allow themselves to research world religions once they are old enough to comprehend such conflicting ideologies. I would never encourage them to become religious, yet I think them believing in a higher, non-personal power would be okay. Have a nice afternoon.

I'll take the gay son, thank you. The latter demonizes the former, and that's just not very christian.

If I had a son and he was gay, i'd have him understand his gender better and enlighten him on the choice of being straight. If my son was a born again Christian, I would enlighten him on the dangers of supersition and hypocrisy. I'd advise him not to get into unhealthy non-biblical practices. I'd tell him to keep God to himself and not to force people into believing in him, but leave it as an option only. Biblical christianity is about choices, you don't get forced to value life or fear it, so why be forced to believe in a god?
