If it's romantic love it means that you embody everything I was looking for and even things I didn't know existed until I found you. It means that you would fill all the gaps so that I am whole.
For friends it means the same but without the passion!

I grew up in a family where that was never said so admittedly I have a very hard time saying that myself. I mean we showed each other we loved one another and we knew but the words either just weren't or didn't need to be said. So for me the phrase is something I choke to get the words out and if I actually do then it means I've given one the most respect I can give a person, that I would lay down my life if I had to for them and I put them before all others. Consequently, I've used that phrase very little in my lifetime.

The below scriptural reading is what I base "I Love You" on. We all have the right to be who we are without fear.
"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."
If I can show those who I love the above qualities, then I Love them totally.
What does it mean to you?
Peace and Love

I use it most with family members in a plutonic sort of way. But, with a romantic partner, it carries alot more meaning. I don't usually hand those words out without careful consideration in the way they will be received.
My favorite "I love you" always comes from my son. I'm at a point in my life where the romantic "I love you" is more of a mutual greeting of some kind, rather than the pulse quickening rush of desire and admiration for the person it's told to.

You love people know matter what they do who they are or any stuff like that. And when people say they love eveyone they might have issues with some people but it'll be all right.

When I tell someone that I love them, it means that I care about them deeply. When I 'love' someone, I care about them enough to put their needs before mine.

It means: I care about you, I support you, I believe in you, I will be here for you, and I will never leave you. That's what it means to me :)

Love unconditionally & absolutely value everything about that one person, it could be anyone. Its about self-love, affection, spiritual, emotions, metaphysical and self-esteem. Its not just about saying it, it shows in everything you do when you are around that one individual. For me, thats love.
