I had panic disorder and it lasted for 5 years. I was addicted to Xanax because of it. That part doesn't matter. My heart goes out to you. I swear.....if I started getting panic attacks again, I would risk that addiction again because it was the ONLY thing that worked for me. Panic attacks can make you depressed. You never know when one is going to hit. You could be more relaxed than anything and have one. People don't understand unless they experience them. I feel your pain - believe me. See if you can get a doctor to prescribe them for you. I tried EVERYTHING available and nothing else worked. I had a conversation with another female who had them and I said "yeah, you think you are going to die" and she corrected me by saying "no, you KNOW you're going to die" -- hers were so bad that she went to the ER everytime she had one. I would have had to move to the hospital though if I did that. Best of luck. It's all that worked for me. Mine started after my father died and I handled his estate -- once all said and done, they started. Doctors said it is common "after" a traumatic event that can trigger them. He was my hero so it was pretty traumatic for me.

I bought a book called " Overcoming Anxiety for Dummies" and it really helped me. My doctor also gave me Xanax, which helps also too, but now I only use the Xanax in extreme cases, which I dont have too many of anymore.
But, vitamins & herbs do help. One herb is Valerian root, sold in health food stores. It calms you within 30-45 min which is how long it takes your digestive tract to get it working. You can experiment with how much to take, but it is very safe to take. When you 1st try it, take 1 or 2 capsules & wait to see if it helps. Do this when you are at home or in a safe place, because some people are more sensitive than others. If you feel you need more you can take more, you can also take 2 caps 3 times a day for awhile if it helps you.

You can regulate your body chemistry with diet and exercise, so that it can produce chemicals that combat stress.
Do you need the approval of others to feel worthwhile? Do you feel that everything is "to you, about you, and because of you"?
If you do, then you are too self-absorbed. Help yourself by giving to others....volunteer work for those in need. Show others that you care about them.
Do simply feel "not good enough" to gain the approval of others? If you do, you have low self-esteem, and spend time focusing on what's wrong with you rather than what's right with you. Help yourself by mastering a skill ar talent to build yourself up. Give others the approval, admiration, and acceptance you so crave. If you do this, your true personality will shine through, and people will feel good around you and realize all of your redeeming qualities that you don't pay attention to. Then you will.....
Are you afraid of embarrassment or ridicule? Chances are, you are afraid of harsh judgment from others because you judge yourself harshly. That would mean that you lack confidence in your abilities, or your ability to make mistakes. Help yourself by making a fool of yourself on purpose three times (toilet paper streamer on your shoe, stub your toe and fall down, sock stuck to the back of your shirt by static cling). You will see that the world does not end, and other good people are understanding.
As for the panic attacks, you must learn to focus, young grasshopper......there are many techniques out there, but they all use focus to cope with attacks until they pass.
Every "problem" or "obstacle" in your life is an opportunity in disgiuse. It challenges you to overcome something, improve something, or learn something. You do not simply "make mistakes" but rather you "discover what doesn't work". You gain wisdom and experience.
Replace "I can't" in your self-talk with "I am not willing to"......that should change your perspective on motivation....
Help yourself by maintaining your health and exercise, maintaining social ties, interacting with others, and thinking beyond your own perpective. Use more empathy.

I like the fact that you don't automatically consider taking meds to control your anxiety! Everyone is so quick to get meds these days. I don't know much about panic attacks and anxiety...but I do know that it can be controlled if you learn the right techniques from a counselor/therapist.

Doctors get a kick back for meds prescribed to you, you DO NOT need meds.
All you need is a good vitamin, workout, and some good food.

Well mabe something happend in your life that is making your feal this way. Sometimes its an chemical imbalence in your brain that makes you feal this way. If you've been dianosed by a doctor for anixity disorder ask him he would know more about it than i would.

If you suspect that it is depression then it would be best to speak to your doctor about how you feel. They will be able to prescribe something that suits you and will hopefully sort out the problem.
