Do ghosts really exist?

There is no question that ghosts exist, however, there is no true understanding of what ghosts *are* or where they came from.

Are ghosts autonoumous and capable of moving around, making decisions, responding intelligently? I don't think so.

Are ghosts the "souls" of dead people? I don't think so.

Are ghosts some kind of energy phenomenon that manifest as echoes of living beings since past, and though spontaneous and random appear to be responding to physical stimulation? I think this is closer to it.

Could the above be true and in addition these phenomena react somehow to forms of human energy that we do not yet understand, and in doing so appear to be responding directly to humans? For example, appear when somone is very emotional due to the energy that is radiated? I think this is very likely.

I have experienced “ghosts” firsthand and while it was as scary as hell, it was more like watching scary special effects than it was watching (and hearing) an actual being.

I have never spoke to, heard or read anyone credible who had true duplex/back-and-forth correspondence with a “ghost” that would provide evidence that it was some form of intelligent being.

M Theory, String Theory, CERN Large hadride Collider,
for info on the 11 dimensions that we live in ( traditional
scientists see only 4 - X Y Z and time, so they are
ignorant of 7 dimensions )
The only person working in all 11 dimensions is
John Hutchinson, search Hutchinson Effect.

So called ghosts etc are just things we sometimes see in the
the real universe, when the missing 7 dimensions temporarily
are in view.

Nathanxxx below puts the perspective in a non-physicist way,
but sayes the same thing, and, unlike me, he KNOWS... I
only wish I could experience these things first hand instead of reading about them.
It is only in the last few years that people like Ed Witten ( called
the greatest mind alive, after Einstien ), have discovered the
the chalk board " hard- cold- science " equations that arrogant " I know it all " sceptics demand to see in fromt of them as an explanation. Experiments are taking place right now that verify the equations, and of the existence of the missing 7 dimensions..
really fascinating stuff - look into it - stay tuned... !

As for the interactive part that shows that ghosts are " thinking, and aware and communicating" well, I can't say, -- people have seen a steam locomotive go through their living room - these are
little old ladies having tea, not spaced out druggies, and there is NO interaction whatsoever with the train. On the other hand, " Human" type ghosts although mostly just wandering about on their own path, sometimes will tap a person on the shoulder from
behind or move something as they pass - -- I think ( think ) a ghost tapped me on the shoulder once, in a place that 3 previous people said was haunted, hearing sounds of people walking, and
having things moved, but I never " saw" anything - when I turned
around, no one was there at all.... As nathan states, most ghost
sightings involve something that "was " and already happened - because of a fluke in space/ time / dimension whatever, we are
able to see it on our tiny plane ( BRANE ) of existence, at
a fleeting point of intersection.

Who are we to say what does and does not exist. I don't see a whole lot of us with, like 10 letters behind our name saying yea or nae for sure about anything. There is however evidence that some type of energies are left behind and sometimes cultivate in certain areas, unexplained incidences, and "paranormal" activity that happens every day, somewhere, different times and different places. Me personally, I don't believe in coincidence, every thing happens for a reason. I think that if you think there are ghost, Then pay attention, they may be trying to tell you something, if your not sure what, ASK? And if you dont believe in ghost, your missing out on the possibilities of faith in the afterlife. Hmmm.... Someone could be trying to tell you something.

they must exist, how many people have stated they've seen them.
If we can convict a person or a crime such as murder based on testimony only, why not base the existence of ghost on testimony.
