That's cutting it a little close. I wouldn't try it if I were you.

4 and a half hours is probably not enough time to go into the city and return in time to check in again and go through security again, with the new restrictions in security. However if all you wanted to see was the eiffel tower, not to climb it or see anything else in the city, it is possible for somebody who speaks no french at all to take the metro. You would need to speak to an agent at the metro station who would sell you your ticket, give you a map, and tell you how to get to the eiffel tower. However, CDG is reasonably far from the eiffel tower and it would be necessary to make line changes on the metro, or it would take about an hour to get to the eiffel tower in a cab. Honestly i don't think you have enough time to see the eiffel tower. Sorry, but hope this helps

Hi,
I live in Paris....
I think it will be very difficult because you need at least 45 mn to go to Paris Center by Subway (RER) and there, you can easely see La cathédrale "Notre Dame de Paris" near the "Saint-Michel" Station...
But If you want to go to see the Eiffel Tower, you need 20 minutes mores by changing of subways...
By Taxi, it will be a real lottery because of the traffic jam : you can do your tour to just "have a glance" but it will be a bet : to have or not to have your flight ;-(((
PS : There's nothing to see around Charles de Gaule Airport ;-(((

It takes 45 minutes each way from the airport to the center of Paris. Since checkin at the airport is usually 2 hours before departure, I don't think so.

i'd definitely take a cab since you're not familiar with the subway, that will cost you a lot of time no matter how you look at it. i think the city is kind of far away from the airport but i could be wrong. if its less than half an hour, i'd do it. take a cab there and back.

It should be and I would Take a taxi because it will drop you and pick you up right away and You will not be able to go up the eiffel tower in 4 hours.
Get back to the airport in 2 hours though because you need to board and because of the new checkpoints

You are cutting it really close, although in theory you could do it. Is it really worth the stress? Perhaps you can tout the residential area near the airport just to get a feeling of France.

You could do well to get past the terminal and to your connecting flight in time. Forget about Eiffel.

Probably not...airlines now are requesting 1-2 hours arrival time before flight. You would have to leave the concourse.

Save 3 hours of that time for traffic; that means you'll have time for a quick lunch in Arr. 1.
