My house just got teepeed last night. The second time in less than a week and the 20 somethingth time in 4 years. I got a glimpse of the teepeers last night and they left their packaging behind. I plan on using the packaging to find them.
I want to press charges. My question is, what can they be charged with and what kind of a punishment will they receive?
They threw a total of 24 rolls of toliet paper all over my trees and all over my front lawn. They ran and got into their cars after they saw me looking out the window at them.

I don't think each time was the same person. I know the people last night aren't the same people as last week.

I didn't piss anybody off who knows where I live. I do have a website where I write about controversial topics and pissed off several people there but they only have my e-mail address, nothing else.
Also, last night's I think I was a random target. At about 11 pm I heard someone say, "this house" then speed off in their car.

Yes I do appear to be the only target in my area but my neighbors and I think it's because I'm the only one with a lot of tall trees in my front yard.

I really doubt it's anything personal. Just a good yard for it.
Listen to me now. I solve problems like this. You're wasting your time trying to identify and charge them.
Do this: You say you have trees and shrubs out there? Well wait for them inside one of the trees. A big pine is perfect. Get a BIG soaky gun, and make a hole in the trees where you can get a clear shot. Fill the gun with grape juice, or some really sugary water. Get the idea? Two can play this game. Now just wait for them and blaaaaaaaaast the crap out of them. They will not expect it and will be scared to death. If you REALLY want to scare the crap out of the lil punks, get some M-80s and light them and throw em at the kids.
Word will get around fast.
Problem solved.

Harasssment,Vandalism, Tresspassing on private property, -call the cops n take it from there? The punishment depends on how old they are, and what counts they are actually charged for, and if they are a repeat offender or a first time offender. I would describe their cars to the police. If it happens usually around the same time, go outside n hide int he bushes somewhere. If I were you, I would wait again, but not let them see you. Make it look like your not home and call the cops without them knowing so they wont run away.

When I was a teenager there was this one house that was on a corner, and it was perfect for doing a lawn job. Me and many of my friends would travel from long distances just to get that lawn. Later when I was about 20, I wound up telling a co-worker about it. It was her mothers house.
Point being nobody knew who owned the house, it wasn't personal. Suggestion, invest in an outside surveillance system. Then you'll catch who is doing it and they'll put the word out to stop.

The first answer is a very good one.

Video, then file charges of harrasment, vandalism, destruction of property..... I am sure the cops can add a few more.... if it is an on going thing, maybe stalking is a valid charge.

Are you the only target in your immediate area?

If so, I wouldn't call it random, you apear to be a specific target.

Leave it on the trees. Cleaning it up will invite more but while its there set up a red light on your roof and a message on your lawn to 'Smile Your on Webcam Video Camera" Its a cheap trick and might help

I'd invest in a video camera, like they said before. Or rig up some floodlights and make sure your yard is well lit. If you are being randomly targeted, then that maight deter whoever is doing it.

What they did is vandalism or harassment. They both are misdemeanors. No jail time only probation. They may also have to do some community service.

the first answer is good. you can get them for tresspassing, vandalism and harrassment. i would set up a video camera to see if i could catch them. then i would also talk to their parents. i
think they can get probation, a fine of $500 or better, and community service.
