About a month ago I started having RLS (restless leg syndrom) I think. I had to stretch, pop my legs all the time. About two weeks ago I started having pain in my muscle. My leg became very tender even to a soft touch. I can not locate any unusual growth in my lower leg, but is very tender.
I would appreciate any response or link.
Thanks!

The symptoms of restless leg syndrome are an irritating sensation of uneasiness, tiredness and itching deep in the leg muscles, especially the lower leg, accompanied by twitching and sometimes by pain. The only relief is walking or moving the legs. Does this accurately describe what you have experienced?

I'd like you to stop and think: Have you been engaging in any unusual physical activity for the past month or so? Have you had any falls or sports injuries? If you are female, do you often wear shoes with a high heel? If you're able to say "no" to these questions, then how about this: Do you have frequent muscle cramps and/or spasms? This could indicate an electrolyte imbalance, such as a deficiency of calcium or potassium.

In the meantime, try ibufropen or acetaminophen (your choice) for some pain relief and a heating pad. Moist heat can be effective when you heat up a wet (not dripping wet) wash cloths in the microwave. Only for 30-40 seconds and lay the cloths on the sore areas. Don't burn yourself. You can repeat this several times. Muscles rubs may help as well. Stretch and flex your leg muscles several times a day by first pointing your toes for a count of 5, then pointing your toes toward your head for a count of 5. Now rotate your ankles away in circles in one direction, then the other.

It's most likely nothing serious, however, if the condition persists another week, see your health care provider for an evaluation. I wish you luck with this and hope it turns out well for you.

If you are concerned, make an appointment with your doctor. But, remember, bad things have BAD symptoms. Also, if anyone gives you a link to webmd, dont trust it. They always give you the worst possible scenario and usually misdiagnose.

Go see your doctor. It's probably something minor, but just to be safe.
