Your sleep needs are based upon your age - growing is hard work and requires recuperating. Ask your school nurse, if applicable, or schedule an appointment with your doctor, to be certain. *Keep a sleep journal, for as long as you can, prior to your doctor visit. Write down everything you eat - time - and all that you do - exercise. Note time you retire to bed and how long you sleep. Also, be sure that your bedroom is a "sleep-freindly" space.......no excessive light or sound......more info, any time you're interested. Be well. Don't worry.

Actually everyone is different. The average is 7-8, but some people do need 9 or so, while some people are good on 6. I see nothing wrong with it as long as you are taking care of your responsibilities and not missing work or appointments. If you feel good throughout the day on 9 and a half hours of sleep, then continue. Don't cut off your sleep just because someone online tells you you're wrong. If you're truly concerned, talk to your doctor. Otherwise, sweet dreams!!!

It depends on your age. Sleep disorders are becoming more common and there are so many factors that play into that. If you are young or old, I think that is too long. Life is shorter than we think. You should get up and LIVE! I get like 7 hours a night and I just would rather be doing something fun or learning something new. We need sleep, but i just say get the minimum and go out there and enjoy life. If you snooze, you loose!

Normally, we need 8 hours for sleeping, but if your body is too tired, maybe sleep more than 8 hours.

You need 9 hours to be fully rested, so you are not sleeping too much.

it's a little on the high side, but given that so many people don't get enough sleep, and that loss of sleep contributes to weight gain and causes lowered immune system effectiveness, i'd say that you should stick with your current system.

No, it's not. Different people need different amounts of sleep, and if you're healthy and happy, then that's what's right for you.
