You need to understand it hurts for a reason and should be looked at by a dentist BEFORE it gets worse. A tooth ache could mean different things; cracked tooth, root problem, infection, etc. So, have it looked at before it turns into something very serious, it will cost you less in pain and money.

Various things - try gently rubbing the affected area with strong alcohol or apply some tooth ache tincture (from drug stores).

Apply something like Anbesol or clove oil, these have the affect of numbing the area, you can also ice to numb the affected area. Chewing yarrow leaves is another option.

All of these offer some short term relief. Better is to take a pain killer but best of all is to see your dentist because if you've got tooth ache it's for a reason and usually these things get worse if not treated.

Be nice with the dentists they have fillings too! (hahaha)
The technology of today really makes going to the dentist less of a "big deal" than it used to be.
While you can numb it and patch it and avoid the dentist as long as possible it really is better if you go now so you can get this taken care of. The sooner you go the less time you have to deal with the toothache. Like mentioned before it won't get any better if you use home remedies they are only temporary fixes.
If you don't have money, most states have some kind of dental coverage for eligible people and if you don't qualify most dental offices are more than willing to set up a payment plan.

You are going to have to go to the dentist some time. A tooth ache is not like a sore that heals up. It will just get worse until it cost you more to get fixed. Go now

You can take painkillers, because i am in India I can't give name them for you, but you really must see a dentist pronto, a toothache could mean your caries are real bad, and if you dont do anything abt it your situation will only worsen, you might have to undergo a root canal treatmen or may be even a tooth extraction, now stop reading and get an appointment

For a Temporary solution, there is something called Dent Temp that fills in the cavities and covers exposed nerves to stop pain. I have used it and it lasts quite a while, but you really need to go to a dentist for a permanent solution. I have had to have dental work done, and can not tollerate anyone touching my head, so I have them knock me out if I'm having anything other than an exam, like surgury.

Well I have a couple different answers for you:
Anbesol
Hold a tea bag on the tooth - or bite down on it (careful not to break open)
Dab a little bit of Hydrogen Peroxide on it

Just a few things I have done - and they really all do work
I hope this helps you

What 's the sin of the pour dentist?I think you 're afraid of the pain...If yes,I suggest you(as a friend)not to make it a big deal & visit a doc. Be sure as it takes much more time it will make the problem more complicated.PAIN IS SOMETIMES GOOD...BUT YOU MUST N'T IGNORE IT.
