yeah, well, the thing is that these guys left to fish. Then a storm tookém away from shore and were sailing without gas for months but they had their fishing tools and drank rain water... that´s what they say of course.

They must have had food and water. Contrary to popular belief, you will begin to severely dehydrate after just 24 hours without water. You will slip into a coma without fluids after 36 hours, and you would be dead by the third day.

You can go one week without food. At that point, again, you would slip into a coma and die quickly after that. The comatose state is brought on so that the body can conserve energy and heat for as long as possible.

They must have had food and water to survive for 9 months. I don't think you can last more than a week without water.

I'm sure they had food

After 1 week you will be so weakend that you will start seeing mirages and eventualy go to sleep and dont wake up

maybe the didnt have food for the last days before the rescue.

you can live about one week without water and a while longer without food...so depends on the water!

they hidrated themselves with fish fat. it helps, believe me. and they were lucky not to get eaten by sharks:D
