I installed empire earth on my pc, which is xp home edition. I have had no problems with any other game but when i installed empire earth and loaded the game the pc crashed, I tried re-starting a)normally b) safe mode c) Best known settings and it kept crashing before windows loaded. What happened ??? The pc is virus and spyware free and all components are loaded normally.

Get an XP cd and boot from it. It'll give you an option to Repair or Reinstall. You should try the Repair function.

when you say virus and spyware free, are you sure? I can only be comforted when I see the results myself. go to http://www.infinitekingdoms.com for recommended spyware/adware/anti-virus removal software.
Anyways have you tried under the start menu "Load last known good configuration"? If you can go into Windows Desktop, do a system restore to the time or date before you installed EE. Once you install EE again, download the latest patch for it to avoid another crash.

The best possible error is Graphic card miss matching
like ur Graphic card may be older to run that new game
or
Just try to install the latest version of DirectX
if it doesn't work still just mail me
