It's the only way that barriers will be broken..eventually. Where I live it is such a non-event. People in the community don't think twice.
I admit I look at families when children are involved. I am just really interested in how the genetics work out and wonder, in this racially charged society (racial profiling etc.), how the kids will identify racially. It takes good parents who have thought this out well.
Staring is not okay and the people who do it to you as a couple are rude and out of line. Call them on it.
A long time ago, a black woman I know talked about the sexualization of black women (and black men) as a form of racism. I came to understand that the sexual curiosity and comparisons are indeed a form of racism.

I am a "product" of a black and white couple. It has caused me problems because I don't even know the white side of my family at all. The kicker about it all is that I don't even really look mixed!! People think I am Hispanic or something. It can definitely be hard for the kids, but as long as you love each other don't worry about what people think or how they look at you. They don't live your life and only YOU can make yourself happy. If that means being with someone who is not your race-go for it. Don't let anyone or anything keep you from the happiness you deserve. Life is short!

I think it works both ways. I am married to a girl of a different race and dont think anything of it. Obviously I'm not the least bit suprised or 'horrified' to see other mixed couples.
However, I have noticed that different race couples seem to stare at other people, including me, hoping to get a reaction.
Its like they get upset if they DONT get attention.
Of course I dont bat an eyelid, best thing to do!!! HaHaHa.

Well, people tend to judge too easily. And gossip too. I like inter-racial couples, there is nothing wrong with them. I in fact want to marry a Japanese guy (I am Greek). So, just let them stare...

You know they could be curious. Wondering why a cute black guy is hauling around a fat white chick with an a$s the size of a buick. Makes me wonder why he would settle for that when he could do so much better.
Or the other cureosity, about his size? you know rumor has it that every black guy is bigger than the biggest white guy. I know it isn't true but hey, that's the rumor and it's in your favor. so go for it.

it does not matter what everone else thinks. If you guys are in love then Fuc them. They are just jelous that you are in a relationship that both of you enjoy and they cant get that through there thick heads. Its not the 1800's anymore it is a free country and you can do anything you want. If you love him and he loves you dont worry about it. Good luck with the relationship.

My ex husband is 0.5 close by american and 0.5 mexican. i'm white. My toddlers are mixed. I stay in a predominantly white section. i'm generalizing and probable steriotyping slightly, yet this section is (for the main section) severly closed minded. i does no longer flow so a strategies as to declare racist, besides the undeniable fact that, there are people who take place their nostril. whilst my daughter first stared college, she had subject concerns via fact she became the sole one in her classification that had darker colored epidermis. little ones are merciless, final analysis, it took a toll on her self-properly worth. because then, it relatively is gotten lots greater useful. How do I manage it? You learn how to stand your floor, yet no longer decrease your self to their point, if, certainly they are hurtful. a number of them are basically basically uneducated. My considerable motto is that individuals are people, race has little or no, if something to do with their personalities and their hearts. of direction, upbringing and ecosystem (yet another steriotype) have very lots to do with their attitudes, besides the undeniable fact that, and that's what I concentration on. the warm button is do no longer enable your self to be a steriotype, there could be no such situation, everybody is different, they have their very own values and strategies. no person man or woman, or couple could be grouped like sheep. manage your courting as a man or woman. If somebody comments on your courting, decipher it.. became it hurtful or neive? encompass your self with people who help your courting and manage the individuals with youngster gloves, via fact in the event that they are making it a controversy, it is strictly what they are .... toddlers. suitable of success :)

I think it's OK. As long as both partners respect, esteem, and love each other, it does not matter in the least what race they are from. Never mind the looks, just hang on. And good luck!
