It hurts me. Whether you believe that Jesus died to save your soul or not, it is historical fact that he did die in that horrific way. So it hurts me the way it would if she were mocking someone being lynched, someone being gassed, someone being raped, someone being tortured, etc.

I would make heterosexual men feel a bit strange I think, it's a bit kinky and so is the naked male on the cross, I don't like the idea of either one.
Sorry I didn't even think of the Madonna pop star when I first answered, I think Madonna is an artist and needs to be given her artistic freedom, I don't think it's especially interesting, the crucifix is not much like the traditional religious one, it's bit and blocky and covered in mirrors like a disco cross, more like a minimalist bathroom fitting really...inoffensive.

Madonna has done everything she has done over the years for shock value. She knows that shock value equals publicity and what better publicity can she have than religious groups protesting her. When that happens people run out to see what the fuss is about. Worked for the DaVinci Code.

Well, she's getting old and hasn't had a hit in years. She's practically washed up. She's just trying to keep her name in the news. What a drama queen. She should knock if off and at least act like she has some respect for others.

I think she is pathetic. Back when she did 'like a prayer' and there was all the controversy, I chalked it up to her neededing to push the envelope. She is too old to act like that now. She is so talented, let's have some great music sans mock crucifictions.

It's a damned shame that, at her age and with all her prior success, she still feels the need to use cheap, unoriginal, attention-grabbing stunts like this.
As a Catholic, I might feel insulted or offended if I took her seriously, but I just can't bring myself to take her seriously. Unfortunately though, all of us (myself included) sitting here contemplating her behavior, from any perspective, feeds into or contributes to her objective.

I have no problem with it per se; but I can't stand people who only do things in half measures.
So hang on a second while I goo get my hammer, Madonna....

I don't like the idea. Some people at holiday time will recreate the Crucifixion and I have no problem with that but not at a music concert. I think it's sacrilegious

I It's a travesty and an insult to Christians everywhere. She is making fun of the King of Kings, and what He went through to save people from eternal hell. What a shame.

Old and busted. A desperate cry for attention after the complete failure of her attempt at an acting career.
