Beware of this....
There are charletains who use sleight of hand tricks; "palming" biological tissues (like organs from an animal) and some packets of blood (fake or otherwise) which they then make it seem like the "healer" is removing diseased tissue from the patient. Others fakes use "faith healing" by touching the patient with fancy words or chants.
There is something to be said for the use of holistic or alternate healing traditions in conjunction with modern medicine. Some are respected traditions. However, it's not a good idea to give up on modern medicine entirely for one of these methods.
I believe your concerns are warranted.
Now for the hard part.... If he really is terminal and modern medicine has "given up" on curing him, then maybe he needs to follow his own path in this matter.
Most importantly, remember your role is as his friend. You want to give him hope, love, and support as honestly and sincerely as you can. You don't want to approach the situation like a nay-sayer taking away what may be the last hope he is holding in his heart. Ultimately, the path he chooses is his.

If psychic surgery were real, it could easily be proven. What's been proven is that it's a total sham.
From http://skepdic.com/psurgery.html
If your friend is dying, my advice would be don't destroy his hope, however. Let him follow his heart in this and wish him well. Give him all the support you can. One of the cruelest things a person can do to another is take away his sense of hope. Occasionally a "miracle" happens.
P.S. Has he tried http://www.cancercenter.com/ -- This place offers new hope to cancer patients where other treatments have failed, and it's a legitimate organization.

A colleague of mine, Ed Strachar, has spent many years researching psychic surgery in the Philippines. Witnessing events first hand and even filming. Try this link. http://www.geniuszone.com/ehss.php

this kind of thing is not uncommon. sometimes there are some people with this "ability" that they can cure diseases. some says they are the medium of god, some says they are the medium of spirits, some syas "i learned this from a hermit in a mountains".
but the truth is, some are true. meaning, they CAN heal people. but some just a quack. it's better to investigate what/where/how/when this psychic guy do about.

The only psychic surgery I've heard of is lobotomy but that wouldn't help your friend.

If your friend going to Philippines, please find Mr. William Nonog, he lives in Caba, La Union District, He is very honest and humble person and he never mention about price, all is up to the patient. He can cure Benign cancer very easily, but in case of Malignant it will take some time, but at least he will cut all the cancer roots and to prevent metastases. For your info, around 3 months in a year he stays in Basel Switzerland.

It is a scam. This angers me even more to see them prey on someone vulerable like your friend.
Do a search there are a lot of clinics in America doing cutting edge treatments. Try the American Cancer Center. Good Luck.
Nice to see people so compassionate about others.

Yes I have and am very skeptic about it. I think it is pretty much a huge fraud and scam. If I am not mistaken, it is were the practitioner supposedly detects an aliment in a person by passing their hands over the person and finding the problem with physic powers. They then remove the "tumor" of bad physic energy with their positive physic energy through their hands by pulling it right out of the person. Supposedly.

It's a scam.
Some scuzbags make a living by preying on desperate people. They can't help your friend.
Sorry.
I doubt it will do any harm, except the disappointment and the cost.
