You are getting some pretty good advice here. It can be confusing when different sources tell you different things. Visit http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/Index.html and sign up for FREE. You dont have to get really in depth with the website but you can use it to simply track what you are eating and how many calories that equates to. It helps you realize just how much you are taking in per day and make you more conscience of what you need to change. (They calculate calories for you and physical activity).
Remember that eating the right foods is important but how you are preparing them is important too. Obviously fruits and veggies are crucial but how you are cooking them (in butter vs. olive oil) is critical. Use olive oil when possible, bake instead of fry, steam veggies, use seasonings to pep up food instead of butter. Eat lots of proteins and consider a multi vitamin.
Best of luck to you.

Start replacing all your white products with whole grain, such as whole grain bread, pasta, and brown rice. Eat more veggies and fruit. For example, have some fruit in the morning and maybe a veggie stir fry with wild rice for supper. Make sure you get your protein either from meat, beans, or lentils. Believe it or not, fat is important in a healthy diet too, but make sure it's a good fat, like extra virgin olive oil, and olives, things like that. It's ok to splurge once and awhile too, on things like chocolate and ice cream. The best kind of chocolate is dark.. the darker the better. Buy things that are low fat, like low fat yogurt and cheese. And start exercising too! Some people tend to forget that exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle. Don't think of this change as a diet, but a change in lifestyle! Your body will start to thank you for making a healthy lifestyle change!

Firstly - burn those cheescake recipes you got last time!!!
Your plate (and it is good to use one instead of a box, or a bag) should look colourful. Bright Green, Red, Yellow. If it is beige or white - not good.
Also, it is best to eat foods that are not "prepared" or "convenient". Heat and serve foods are not your friends. The closer to its original form your food is, the better.
Avoid snacking or even meals at least 3 hours before bedtime. Yes, that means alcohol too.
Do eat a good breakfast. If you did a random check around the people who are healthy and thin - - they eat breakfast everyday.
Lastly, don't beat yourself up if you have an "off" day, or a "bad" meal. Just continue like it never happened. Likely, your slip ups will become fewer and farther between. Good luck! :o)

Include more fresh vegetables and fruits in your diet. Some whole grains like oatmeal. Fish instead of red meat. If you hate fish then chicken. Some dairy but not much, like cheese, etc. You can eat a healthy diet and still occasionally eat junk and it won't hurt you. white bread won't hurt if you eat some whole grain bread too. But the majority of your diet should be WHOLE foods, like those mentioned above.

You have good habits because you think well. Junk food irritates intestines and causes constipation with bread.
If you have a good appetite you try sprouts. Sprouts contain all vitamins. It possesses more proteins needed for muscle building than carbohydrates.
You add salads to your meals.
Use citrus fruits + fresh milk for breakfast if it suits.
