This is a behavior issue. Has she recently moved or changed anything in the cat's life? Or even her life? Maybe this cat does not feel like it gets enough exercise and is bored at night. My cat used to do this then we got him neutered and would play with him for a half an hour after we got home and then another half an hour before bed time and he stopped his bad behavior.

Check out this site. It might give you some more helpful info. Also just search "Cat behavior" and it will come up with tons of info.

Chances are there is an outside female thats been coming around at night, and they are getting scent of her. Indoor cats dont always know what to do with their feelings when it comes to a smell like that. I would say a health problem but if its just at night, its most likely a cat outside. There's got to be something new going on outside thats making him get all upset at night. ( or inside ) To save some money, dont tell her to run off to the vet LOL.

hi. nicely, 13 is exceedingly old for a cat. out of your description of the indicators the undesirable ingredient has a disesase or an infection and desires a style human to take it to the vet. The vet will become responsive to the concern and cope with for this reason. desires to be carried out quickly. keep in mind that vets, like docs, are committed to preserving existence, instead of the different. If the cat is in soreness or suffering and previous medical care your chum won't choose to observe it worsen and die in a bad way. the only ingredient to do is take it to a vet and get help for it.

is the cat spayed? the cat could be wanting to get out, and meowing a lot, because it has not been spayed before. especially at night.
there may also be another cat's scent outside that triggered this at this time of year- the cat want's that cat to be it's mate.
so tell you friend that she should get the cat spayed, or find it a mate, perhaps another friend's cat?

Take the cat to the vet just to make sure nothing is wrong with it. I once have a cat that did that when he didnt feel good. But then again I also had one that would do that when he got excited.

Reguardless of it being male or female that cat must be in heat, an somehow can tell theirs another cat outside it wants to get too. After so long the cat will stop doing it, but its best to just let them get it out of their system.

If the cat is a male, it could be time for him to be neutered. My male cat used to wake me up at night, because he was sensing the other female cats outside that were in heat. I had him neutered and the problem went away.

well, since it is a change in behavior, probably take it into the vet for a check up. could be it suddenly wants more attention at night if there is nothing medically wrong with it, maybe it's hungry, have a feeding time just before going to bed. but start off with the vet and then go from there.

Sometime when a cat is ill, they do that. I suggest the cat have a full exam, let the vet know what is going on.
