I just wanted to answer to some of you. The reason Im saying this is because I too am a christian, and the thing is I learned to understand that Jesus is willing to be with sinners, and not hate them. So why cant we? Its hard when people say things because you want to tell them how you feel and how amazing christ is, but you cant force yourself/ religion upon them. Its hard to see people hating something when you love it so much, but my point is share love not hate, and maybe you will be happier.

It really depends. There are some hateful 'Christians' out there - you know the ones. They want to kill homosexuals, feminists, all those who don't believe what they believe.
There are also those who, though they dislike those things, don't want to segregate or harm anyone, are willing to verbally argue about what God's word says. Some may find this hateful, but it is no more so than the Pagan who sat on my doorstep and told me he had freedom *from* religion (yes I argued that one out - it's freedom *of* religion - he has freedom to be Pagan and I have freedom to be Christian)
So it depends on your definition of hatred.
BTW - I gave you a thumbs up - because it is a good question and allows people who are really willing to discuss the issue a voice.

I guess everything is a matter of perspective. If a Christian tells you that if you don't accept Christ you go to hell....is that an example of being hateful? It isn't. If a Christian diagrees with an atheist is that being hateful? no. If an atheist disagrees with a Christian is that hateful? YES. HA HA JUST KIDDING....no, it isn't.
It is hard to distinguish tone on a forum such as this. Things can easily be misunderstood. We read from our own perspective, so groups from both sides may be misinterpreting tone and intent.
It also doesn't help when people generalize. That gets everyone in a tither. (not saying the asker did that, she did say "many" not all)
So, are there many? Sure there are. There are many who are hateful and many who are loving. However, Christians are not the only hypocrites in this world. And keep in mind that not all who answer a question supporting the belief in God is a Christian. Also, not all Christian are mature. Christians are people. I do agree that many should do a better job representing Christ.
Along the same lines of perspective....it is funny because I thought the atheists sounded more hateful. lol. So, the same question could be posed as the opposite and get just as many confirming answers.
So, we have words with no tone or inflection, different people of all different ages, beliefs and what not, discussing a hot topic. No wonder there are problems. There are hateful and loving people on both sides of this. However, hateful atheists aren't making a HOLY God look bad---so Christians need to watch their tongue and keep in control.

I do feel the same way. I am a Christian too, but it really annoys me when certain Christians act like like they have a direct line to God and they are the only ones that "get it." Even Christians can get slammed by other Christians if they don't take the Bible literally word for word or if they believe in evolution, as I do. It doesn't make any sense. We are supposed to love everybody. Even if you feel you must convert people to save them from Hell, being obnoxious and having a "holier than thou" attitude is not going to get the job done. People will not be converted by forcing your opinion on them but by the example you lead. Respect other people and their opinions. Love God and your neighbor with all your heart. This is what Jesus commanded us to do.

a real Christian isn't hateful or ignorant. possibly they only wanted to get solutions from different believers. Ever seen that? possibly you're surely indignant because you experience the inadequacies interior your self as a result you lash out at Christians for loving you adequate to allow you already know the certainty. I surely have study lots of your questions and spoke back lots of them and that i think of which you have greater of a difficulty with Christians than they have with you. Why are you so indignant. God loves you. i such as you! existence is incredible. Be incredible too!

Yes. Its like a bully picking on a kid to make himself feel greater. If the bully felt secure with himself, he wouldn't be so angry and pick on the kid to make himself seem righteous. Jealously being acted out is called hate. Sometimes they post their opinions about another religion to bash them and not obtain the truth. Some of those bashing are so inaccurate that I arch my eye brows.
But there are Christians whom are humble and just share things with you and act more like Jesus, peach and blessing be upon him. There whole thing is love and they are at peace.

They're just more vocal. All the chrstians I know are moderates. Even the most extreme you won't find trying to convert others or speaking hatefully. Then again, I tend to get rid of intolerant people.
What is most interesting is that the most vocal people on here have not read their holy texts, and rely on cut/paste passages from websites.

Christians aren't the only ones taking up for Christians. It's just that the WHOLE put-down tactics of other religions that don't even know what they are talking about, will make people take up for themselves OR other religions.

There are?
Just because you are a Christian does not mean you cannot have a righteous anger to things people say or do.
We do not have to idly stand by while other ridicule us, our faith, our God or anything else concerning us.
It does NOT mean we do not love others. We do love them, else why bother to make a fool of ourselves? It's OK to be a fool for Christ.
God is not only a loving God, He is also a Judging God and someday these people are going to be judged. Who else is going to warn them?
We do not have to take it! You understand? God is NOT all about love. There is a judgment day coming, Hell awaits. He is going to have to stand by and watch His beloved enter into hell.
For goodness sake, cry your tears now for them as it will be too late then. Get angry and do all it takes to win them.
One of my best friends who is a minister said he did not get scared about being saved till his sister finally said in anger one day, "well just go on to hell then!"
Sure, we may come off hateful sometimes, but it is a hateful thing satan is doing to these people. I hate him and hate that they are fooled.
He hates them too, they are God's image and He is still mad at God for the defeat and resurrection at Calvary. He will take as many to hell as he can get. I am not going to let it happen!
NOT on my watch!

people are always taking God's name in vain and saying things like Christians are so hateful and they are so ignorant, you might be a little bit on the defensive side. However I don't believe that any christian should be hateful,
