Yeah, prostitution would be the biggest one. It is, as they say, a victimless crime (provided the people taking part are doing it of their own free will and are of age). Think how much money this country could make if they would legalize it, tax it and monitor it. You can zone it to keep it from community areas, you can insure that the "employee" pass strict health conditions. They could be set up like the brothels in Nevada and Denmark, with health plans and such for the employees, instead of having them hanging around in an alley and taking a chance on getting in a car with a lunatic. You could still fine the street hookers for operating without a license which would encourage them to go "legit". So what if it puts a few street level pimps out of business? And when I look at our local website that has photos of all the guys who got busted for trying to pick up a hooker, it's kinda sad. All these guys wanted was a little tail. And the woman was more than willing to give it to them. It's just a business transaction. Hell, most of those guys where so ugly that no legit woman would probably give them the time of day...

the best laws are only as good as their enforcement
since there is no real enforcement (people get away with all sorts of things even murder) laws in this country are just sugestions
so eliminating one law will not save the tax payers money
eliminating one law (ie: legalize prostitution) will carry other problems, more prostitutes, more violence between pimps/ prostitutes, etc, police will end up involved anyway=there go the savings

I would eliminate the income tax and instead use a USE TAX to support the Federal and State Governments. Then people that are getting off Scot free in this country would also have to pay.

All income would be just that, income. Everything you bought with the money you earned would be taxed. Illegal emigrants would pay taxes like the rest of us. Foreigners living in this country would pay taxes like the rest of us. Politicians would pay tax like the rest of us.

There would be only a small IRS because there would be no income tax returns to deal with. We would be better off because even big corporations and oil company's would be paying taxes. No one should be exempt.

Maybe give low income people a refund from their receipts for food and medical expenses. Otherwise everyone pays.

Wow finally a good question!

First, for "idontkno" - gas tax already exists, for every gallon of gas you buy you pay twice as much in taxes on that gallon than the oil company get out of it for profit

Now for an idea, Lately I think I'm leaning towards getting rid of income taxes and initiate a national sales tax on all goods, and if needed apply the same un-even distribution of tax burden that exist now to that, but I don't think it would be neccessary to do that, just the sales tax.

I would eliminate the law establishing the IRS. and replace the system with a VAT tax or the Fair Tax Amendment.

Make drugs legal. Eliminate the DEA; save court time/cost; collect taxes.

I'm not sure how that would save taxpayers money. My choice would be to eliminate farm subsidies and subsidies to the oil companies
