A few toys to keep him entertained. Also, plenty of diapers and a few snacks. Extra clothes, in case he gets messy and a couple of weeks ago, I would have told you to bring baby Tylenol just in case, but now, I don't know if they would let you keep it.

The heck with him! Bring help!
Smile.
At 18 months, it may frankly be too much for the child. Disney world, like anything else, means a lot of different things to different ages.
It will be a lot of noise, distractions and different stumuli for the child.
So, take it in little bites, no more than 2-3 hrs. at a time, then let the child relax and unwind for several hours.
My rule of tumb is for every three year's of age, have an extra adult to help.
No single person can deal with a child for a day, too stressful.
A five-six yeard old needs three adults- thank heaven's for Grandparents, to keep up with the child.
No kid under five will really remember Disney World two years- or even a year later.
So, if alone- do it in very small "bites" and don't force the child to do too much.
Also, even six year olds are terrified of the Giant Mouse the first time they see him!!
Good luck.
Hope this helps.

Disneyworld was a waste (sorry, but it was.) We were there 4 days and never once saw any disney characters walking around. The rides suck because they are all indoors and you can't see what they do before you get on them. It rains everyday at 4:00 no matter how sunny it is all day it always rains. It's humid as heck! The drinks there are about $5.00 for a SMALL. Plus, your son is 18 months old, even if you do have a good time--he won't remember it. Well, anyway have a good time.

Disney World is over rated and expensive. My daughters were 9 and 8 when we went. They like Carawinds and Emerald Point much better and less expensive. Family of 4 Disney World $300.00 a day Carowinds $160 a day Emerald Point $ 90.00 a day. Disney lines are an hour or more and not that great.. Sorry

In general, you'll need some or all of the following whenever you go out:-
(A) A changing bag. Keep the bag packed and ready, re-stocking it regularly, so you can just pick up and go.
(B) A changing mat. If your changing bag doesn't have one, pack waterproof pad. you can use towel or nappy in a pinch, but they won't adquate protect carpeting, bed or furniture when your 're changing baby during visit.
(C)Nappies. How much depends how long is your outing.
(D) Baby wipes. A small convenient pack is easier to carry than a full size container, but it must be refilled frequantly or you can use a small zip-lock plastic sandwhich bag to tote a mini supply.
(E) Zip-locks plastic bags and nappy sacks. you need this to disposing of dirty diposable nappies, particulary when there is no dustbin available or you in hurry. You also can carrying wet clothes and soiled baby clothes home.
(F) Formula. As per baby requirement. advised put in air-tighted container.
(G) Shoulder Nappies. Your friends may enjoy holding your baby -but not being split up. a handy cloth or nappy "muslin" or towel will
prevent embrassing moments.
(H) A change of baby clothes. always pack extra outfits.
(I) An extra blanket or sweater. Particularly in transitional seasons, when tempretures can fluctuate unpredictable, the additional covering is better.
(j) A dummy if baby use one.
(j) Entertaiment. Something to provide visual stimulation, soft toys for your baby.
(K) Sunscreen . If adequate shade is not available, apply a small amount of sunscreen on baby's face, hands and body. Now it is recommended even for baby under six months.
(L) A Snack for mum. if you breast feeding , or will out for long strecth do take some nutritiuos snack like whole grain breads, cheese, fruits or bag of dried fruits.
(M) Snack for baby. if introduced solid do bring some healthy snack for baby too like rusk ; cereal and etc.

18 mo old is a bit young for Disney. You can bring a collapsable stroller for the park and a bottle or pacifer to help relieve ear pressure on the airplane to make everyones life easier

I flew from Nevada to Ohio with my daughter when she was 18 months old, and had no problems other than a squirmy little girl that wanted to play. The pressure did not bother her, and this was a girl that had lots of ear problems as a kid. I brought a pacifier, for her to suck on during take off and landing, and she did fine. But keep lots of toys and books handy, to keep the wiggling to a minimum.

there really aren't alot of things for someone that young to do, but make sure you bring your own snacks, the charge an arm and a leg for the food there and bringing your own fresh fruit, crackers and juice will save you a bundle..make sure on the flight he's eating when you take off and land for the pressure changes since gum really isn't an option..good luck..
