I am teaching my 2-year-old daughter sign language and plan to teach my 9-month-old son as well. We have done some of the basics and I would like to teach her more, but I am having trouble finding sites that are consistent with thier words. I have looked at a few different sites and they will show how to say the same word/phrase a few different ways depending on the site. Does anyone have suggestions as to a good site to use??

I like this site: http://commtechlab.msu.edu/SITES/ASLWEB/browser.htm

Some of the discrepancies in signs you've found online may be due to regional differences. For example, the sign for SLOW on the site I listed is not the sign commonly used in NJ, although it would be understood here. Also, many of the sites specifically about signing with babies use their own made-up signs rather than ASL signs. There can also be some differences between Signed English signs and ASL signs. For example, in SE, the sign for ELEPHANT uses an 'E' handshape (from the manual alphabet sign for 'E') while the ASL sign uses an open hand.

Realize there is no universal sign language. IN the US there is ASL, American Sign Language. SO make cetian which sign language you are teaching.
