A snob is someone who is so proud that he thinks he's superior. He acts dismissively and in a condescending manner to people who he thinks doesn't measure up.

The advantage of being one is that a snob probably has something to be proud of.
The disadvantages frequently include actually being very insecure and using snobbery as overcompensation, shallow friendships, and general resentment towards that person.

A proud person is confident in his abilities, but his views of others aren't colored by judgement. He knows that he's worth something, but he doesn't apply the same judgement to others.

The advantages include being more attractive to others, having good self-esteem, and generally feeling content.
Disadvantages may include falling into snobbery if the person gets too proud, and possibly the loss of some friends if they're not used to your changes.

to think one's self better than anyone else and that you can handle all your OWN problems.
Hmmmm, Not much difference. No advantages at all.
Disadvantages, a LOT. 1. No friends 2.being thought of as a jerk. 3. Everyday problems that arise, thinking you can handle them on your own--your own power, your own will. 4. You get the message. Both of them stink.

I don't think the Bible has much good to say about a proud person.

Being proud is accepting that you have a quality that others don't have but want, and are happy to have such a quality. A snob assumes that they have this quality because they deserve it, and are generally better than anyone without such a quality. To be proud of ones qualities is a sign of self love and respect, and to be a snob is generally a social no-no.

A Proud person has an elevated sense of self-worth, who enjoys exhibiting themselves within normal society to seek favortism and an elevated position of class. A Snob is the same with gross amounts of elevation to the point were they beleive that they are members of a higher class and do not desire to associate with any class of people they deem as underclass. ie., proud people seek the praise of others to increase their ouw-viewed self-worth, whereas sobs view themselves as superior without the need for approval from anyone but of their own precieved highest class. Disadvantages of both are lose of perception of reality, spirituality and humble self-love. Not to mention loss of relationship.
