There is a direct relationship of increased anxiety, to increased BP, and heart beat. Anxiety differs from fear. In this way . Fear is identifiable. Anxiety is not clearly seen.

For example a lion jumps out at you, and you become afraid. You can see the lion. The parasympathetic response of fight or flight kicks in. Your adrenal glands secrete adrenalin. Adrenalin has multiple effects on the system more specifically the cardiac and respiratory system . Many things take place Automatically (if you were not so scared to notice). It effects the whole system. Your digetive system is put on hold because you do not have time to eat when you are running away from a threatof a lion. Besides you need the extra energy that is used in the metabolism of digestion. The bodyo conserves it and uses it in either a fight or run (flight) from the lion. Your bowls become dorment because you will not be stopping to have a bm (if it has not been scared out of you already) while you fight or run away, and the energy used in digestive metabolism is conserved . Your urinary tract will also be placed on hold for many of the same reasons. No time to stop to urinate and energy conservation. and the conserved energy being sent to other parts of the body were it is needed to either fight or flight. You will need the extra fluid for metabolism and sweating in the fight or flight. Your nostrils flare and bronchial tubes expand in order to accomidated the increase inhaled air you will be needing during the fight or flight. Some blood vessles will contract and others will expand in order to save blood incase of injury and supply extra blood where needed for increase metabolism during the fight or flight. The heart rate will beat faster for more blood, and will enlarge and beat stronger for the same. All of this is done in fine coragraphed dance with in the body in self defense and protective mechanism.

When the lion leaves you then consciously as well as uncounsciously bring yourself down from the fear and increased physical demanded state. In other words calm your self down. And the body begins to return to its former state.

But as you walk through the jungle you hear another niose in the weeds. Because of your previous experience with the lion you automatically fear and asscociate that noise to the lion although you have not seen him. This is anxiety. Anxiety makes the body respond just as if you physically seen another lion although you have seen nothing. So anxiety is a fear that is of a unknown origin and your body responds systemicaly to some fear that triggers it. In this case the past experience of the lion. The trigger is of past frightening experience or asscociation. With anxiety you have not seen what is fearing you.

Now anxiety causes a physical response to a psychological past fearfull event. It will be alot of work psychologically to examine oneself, ones fears and past emotional injuries in order to identify what is causing the fear wich is expressed in anxiety. Anxiety so deep in the psychy that a person is unaware of what it is but also at the same time conscious that something is bothering them and they are feeling a certain uncomfortable way as a result. The person will conscously attempt to calm the effect of that uncomfortable feeling.
ultimately your response to a unknown anxiety is in conflict with the unconsciousphysical response. physically anxiety will cause a stromg heart beat. The conscious mind is aware that it has seen nothing threating because it does not identify the threat because it is so deep in the unconscious mind and what you have is conflicting signals to the heart. a signal to beat hard and strong to fight and simotaneous signal to calm the heart. The resulting beat is expressed as a flip flop.

This conflict to the heart is like naming your dog stay. Then telling him to come here. "stay come here". Now the answer.

1.Be honost with your self
2.Stop everything...... and go inside yourself.
3. admit something is scaring you some fear.
4.Once identifying your fears write them down.
5.Ask your self can I, or do I have any real power to control or change this fear?
6. Identify which fears you have control over and which ones you do not.
7. Make a constructive plan to deal and solve the fears that you can have control of and can make a difference in.
8. Give the fears that you do not have control of TO GOD and hide in his divine protection.

What you will find is the scaryest fear...
NOT HAVING CONTROL over certain things because GOD IS In Control and not you. Take his medicine and trust in his protection with these matters.
Then Go to your doctor to have your medicine you are on reevaluated. You may not need some of it. hope this helps

Find another doctor. Its sounds to me like you have MVP(Mitral Valve Prolapse) I have it and have had it for 15 years. I take an asparin a day for it and it seems to help. I just cant do to many things. I lose my breath very easily. Get off of the meds. I cant take those either since they made my heart beat even faster. You were misdiagnosed dear. Try the aspirin for it. My friend just got diagnosed with it too. Its very common especially in women. Good luck and e-mail me if you have any questions.

Find another physician!!! Don't you know that a lot of them are quacks? Did you know that a Harvard study found that more Americans are killed by medical mistakes each year than die in car accidents?

Get a second opinion. Maybe it really is nothing but some anxiety. If so, try transcendental meditation. It works. Good luck.
