So far no good answers. When you travel from Los Angeles to Hongkong crossing the International Dateline you lose a day;and as such, in this case you can't celebrate your birthday on 18th Aug. Additional info: If you fly back to Los Angeles you will gain a day.

hong kong, if you leave on the 17th, then its not your birthday, you will arie to hong kong on the 18th (i guess) so celebrate there, besides im sure youve had a lot of happy birthdays in LA.
