had my hair cut short and go out alot with another girl with short hair which is kind of punky. paranoid about us looking like girlfriends, girlfriends.

Honestly I seen on a show one time where they polled people and most lesbians have long hair .

Generalization much? Perhaps before they came out, they were deeply in the closet and deliberately acting more "girly" than they felt. Perhaps, in getting their hair cut and dropping the more overtly-feminine gestures, they were actually moving more towards who they actually were? So, in fact, the "pretty and feminine" part was the act, and what you saw afterwards was more of the reality. For what it's worth, while I do know some lesbians who went through a transformation such as you describe, most of the ones I know were pretty much the same before and after, except for being happier.

This is a common sterotype.
Most women with really short hair like Ellen Degenarous(however you spell her name) are thought of as lesbians, but just because you have short hair doesnt mean you are.

Some people will think so, but since a lot of women, esp. older ones, are getting much shorter haircuts, fewer people are willing to assume that all short haired women are lesbians.

It is a mean thing for people to Judge on appearance.
I am a heterosexual male who does not care too much about what people think, just what I know.
Some women look very cute or, pretty, or beautiful, take your pick, with short hair.
I do not worry about what persuasion any one is, anyone had just better look out if they cross me.
Go out with your Friend and to heck with what people think, whatever it is that you know is what is really important

Depends how short and what style. Halle Berry and Kelly Rowland didn't look like lesbians when they had short hair.
Punky does tend to look a bit "lezzy", though. But what does it matter anyway?

short hair depends on the style and the person.
Don'T be paranoid about looking like g/f's . who CARES what other ppl think anyway? if you let that happen, you will not be able to do anything. if other ppl make assumptions it is their problem, not yours.

having short hair is NOT lesbianish. Unless u get a style that is really butch. otherwise it's just downright sexy. It's pretty much inviting guys to take a nibble @ ur neck!
