When someone loves you, it is a complete openness and vulnerability. As time goes on we get used to this and abuse it. It's a horrible trait that I diplore in myself, but human nature nonetheless.

because the people you love are the people you know the best and misery likes company so you know how to hurt them and join in your pain.. plus, who doesn't want the comfort of a loved one.. who doesn't want to be there for a loved one when they are hurting?
