I make a bolagnaise sauce in mine, dry fry some lean mince, then chop up 3 onions, brown with the mince. Add to slow cooker with 6oz sliced button mushrooms, a tin of chopped tomatoes with herbs, salt, pepper, dash of worcestershire sauce, splash of tomato ketchup, then leave it to cook for about 6 hours, delicious! I am having that tonight actually. Oh, by the way, if you like, you can add a clove of garlic with the onions if you want.

check out a cookbook called Fix it and Forget It, it's got some great slow cooker recipes in it. It's available at pretty much any bookstore, or amazon.com

Is it a Rival Crock Pot? If so, the owners manual has recipes in it. The best one I've ever had is called Chicken Parisienne. In the book I think it's called chicken with mushroom gravy, but if you read on farther, it tells you to add sourcream and flour, etc. GOOD STUFF!
