This is not a virus, this is a rootkit exploit. The best method is YES, format and reinstall. The look at this product http://www.alphashield.com

Sounds like what you have is a trojan. Microsoft has a free helpline for it:

This is the free Microsoft anti-virus line. This is a totally free service that will walk you through the virus removal steps: For support within the United States and Canada, call toll-free (866) PCSAFETY (727-2338).

Good Luck

no you don't have to format your hard drive, even if you format, the virus may not be removed. Get a program from the internet called kaspersky antivirus 6.0 (http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/trial-versions.php), install it and update the virus defenitions, then scan your computer for viruses, it should remove the virus easily. If you want more help, email me on moho@net.sy

Bloodhound does not tell you anything, that is just a type of virus detection. Tell us the whole name.

Ps.: If you know the name you must have anti virus software, let It remove the virus.

bloodhound is a feature in Symantec Antivirus (called heuristic in many other softwares) that can detect unknown viruses by trying to match files to the signatures of known viruses, while also looking for telltale signs of unidentified viruses in the files.

So, obviously, this isn't a virus at all (or maybe a new cool virus writer picked that name!).

Well most viruses usually embed themself in your regestry. If you can open your regestry by pressing Start>Run and typing in "regedit". Or if you dont have a virus scanner...AVG by Grisoft offers a free anti-virus software that is the best you can get for free...www.grisoft.com

Try to take it to a specialist to have the virus removed. Sometimes they can do this without touching your information. Call them first and tell them what you just said.
