You betcha it works! If you keep yourself hydrated then your body will less likely tell you to eat! I wouldn't substitute a meal for a glass of water, but the benefits of drinking water before eating meal are awesome! You'll find that you are eating less and you'll reap the benefits! also recommend ICE WATER.

By drinking ice water you will burn more calories for every gallon in a day. If you researched Ph.D. Ellington Darden, was the first to endorse this extra boost to your dieting. I personally prefer iced water over tap or refrigerated, I've lost weight though, mainly by exercise and smaller portions of food

Be careful when drinking too much water at once or within the same day. You might develop a toxic amount of water in your system; which is very true and very serious. Keep it under a gallon and half a day and rather than drinking large amounts at once, carry a water bottle around with you or keep one close and the key is sipping throughout the day. You'll notice the difference on shrinking your appetite and remembering to drink your water will distract you from the food temptations.

Best of luck!!! :D

There are no effective ways that are quick, if you want to keep the weight off long term...so focus on doing it right, instead of doing it fast (ya didn't put it on overnight...it's not coming off overnight)...

Often when we think we're hungry, we're actually thirsty...if people would drink some water when they feel hunger, and then see if they are still hungry afterward, there'd probably be a lot less snacking that goes on...a large glass of water before a meal can also help curb your appetite, so you will eat less...

Water is good anyway...keeps your skin hydrated and many functions in your body running smoothly...flushes the kidneys and such...definitely add water to your daily regime (permanently)...

Also watch what you eat...cut out junk foods and high calorie, unhealthy stuff...eat a good balanced diet and exercise 5 days a week for at least 30 mins (I do 1 - 2 hrs when I'm trying to lose weight, a morning workout and an evening workout).

About 3 lbs a week is the max that is recommended to lose in a healthy way and still keep it off long term...good luck!

If your drinking water instead of soda's.. sure. Water will make you feel less hungry if you drink it before meals.. but you still need to eat the foods to sustain a healthy body.. Eating less and getting more exercise will help you lose weight the healthy way. Fad diets are not the answer to long term weight loss.

Yes it would because often thirst is mistaken by the body for hunger. Plus if your not filling up on junk of course you will lose weight. Saying no makes no sense.

I don't mean gorge on water but drink a cup full when you feel hungry and soon that hunger feeling will leave. Eat healthy balanced meals and don't substitute water for food when it comes time to eat.

The answer is no. You need enough water to be a mode of transportaion for waste and nutrients. Now if drinking water means instead of a small Coke with 8 teaspoons of sugar, then you lose weight by avoiding the Coke. Also if you eat water you lose weight. For example instead of eating cake you eat something sweeeter like watermelon, then the COMBINATION of water plus fiber in the watermelon fills you up. Note-- my level 5 is mostly from Diet & Fitness.

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. Here is how it works. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.

But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.

So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Remember the above (not on site) and see site below to re-learn how to eat so you can be thin and fit for life.

Yes, by drinking water instead of eating, you save yourself all the fats in food. It does not replace food however, and you still need to eat during the day. You can not completely replace food with water and stay healthy.

I like to run, I think it is the main thing that keeps me in shape. Also, I drink a lot of water.

drinking water before eating a meal helps reducing weight from the sense that it'll fill your stomack and will make you eat less and feel full quickly...

There's a famous diet that is based on water: after waking up, before meals, every 2 hours, before sleeping...etc

yes b/c the part of your brain that tells you that you are hungry is right next to the part that tells you that you are thirsty. The hungry feeling may actually be your body's way of asking for water. Any intake of water and not food will flush the body of fats

It helps if it keeps you from snacking on un healthy food. Water should never be used to replace your meals for weight loss.
