I would say I have to believe in the spirit...
What makes a dead human different from an alive one... besides the obvious physical side effects?
Where does the personality, feelings, memories, thoughts etc go?
There is also the idea that the human body is 21 grams lighter when they die... for no apprent reason...
So all in all I would say yes there is a spirit...
plus, who wouldn't like the thought that their spirit lives on... unless in some kind of "hell" i guess?

Bhagavad Gita Mentions Clearly that Spirit Soul exists ...
there are 3 levels of Spirit ....
Spirit existence as Light and Spiritual World ...
Spirit existence as Soul and life
Spirit existence as God or Supreme Soul.

The Bible does talk about Spirits existing. There is the HOLY SPIRIT and then there are Demons. And I do Believe both exist.
