Many ways...place in boiling (lightly salted) water bring back to the boil and simmer for 10-15 mins........or steam it .. once cooked serve with butter and freshly ground pepper.
You can also wrap cobs in tinfoil with a little butter or olive oil and seasoning then either bbq or oven cook...you can also microwave them(no foil lol).
The most important thing is to get the corn very fresh as each minute it spends after picking it loses sweetness so if possible pick, then into the pan then eat. Failing that find a local supplier that you know gets corn in fresh and often.
I cooked two last night which i had just picked from my glass house minutes before..beautiful.
anyway hope you enjoy

Fresh Sweet Corn Salad Recipe
This salad is fresh, light, and goes with everything. Be sure to use fresh sweet corn when making it, the sweeter the better. If you make it the day before serving, flavors will have a chance to blend. This keeps for several days in the fridge. Cook time is minimum chill time.
6 ears fresh sweet corn
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 orange bell pepper, diced
6 green onions, finely sliced (scallions)
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
For dressing
1/3 cup rice vinegar, seasoned with basil and oregano (I use Nakano brand)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
salt
pepper

I like mine roasted on the grill. It is corn season here and I am picking from the garden. I made corn yesterday and plan to do the same today. I usually soak mine in a sink of water with the husks on. Then I peel some of the husk away before placing on the grill. I let it steam for quite a while and turn it often. I like the roasted flavor and the corn is so sweet that it almost tastes like caramel when you eat it. And I brush it with melted butter and sprinkle it with sea salt when it is finished.

Boil cob with a few of the youngest leaves that are lastly stripped off and a little salt. Test with a fork every now and then so that it's not boiled for too long( will get touph) and if you like use a fork and stick into the cob and cut corn off the cob into a plate, bowl and dab a little butter or margarine and if preferred a sprinkle of salt, Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Enjoy.

I have two ways.... you can soak the corn keeping the husks on in water for a couple of hours ... then put it straight on the BBQ turning it about every min or so for about 8 to 9 mins ..... or wrap in wax paper with butter and pepper cook on high for about 1 to 2 mins depending on your micro wave. I never like to boil it because you loose some of the flavour and goodness from it.
Enjoy!!!!!

Whether you steam or boil your corn, add just enough milk to the water to color it. Brings out the sweetness to ANY corn on the cob! YUM! I've been cooking corn on the cob like this for as long as I can remember...

On the cob, put it in some boiling water and add some sugar to make it even sweeter. When the water turns yellow, after about 10 or 15 minutes, it's done.

if in a can, cook it for around 5-10 mins

On the cob you could shuck it and boil it in sugared water then server with salt anf butter. Or you can soak it with the husks on and grill it. In a pinch, you can microwave it but do it slow because it will turn rubbery rather quickly.
