You have to keep her up all day, play with her, dont let her doze off at all. At, night she should go to sleep...if she dosent mabey play some soft lullaby music for her, or a ticking alarm clock, and give her a warm blanket with a warm water bottle underneath....i had to do that for my dog...but mabey she's just weird?!!

First great Pyrenees do sleep alot (it is part of the character). Second since she is a puppy (she is just like a human baby) they go by their time clock not the rest of the families. I would try to keep her up as much as possible during the day-walks outside, etc. Since you are home this is possible. Also I understand training in the crate but now would be a wonderful time to get him out as much as possible while you are at home. At night make sure the crate has a warm blanket and even maybe a clock that ticks(makes her think of her mothers heart beat). Good luck! GP are wonderful dogs!

This is a pyr trait. Rescue remedy from you local health food store had to of been created specifically for pyrs. I rescued one that I would wake up with him over my head looking out the window. They are guard dogs and when you are not awake it is their duty to walk the perimeter and take care of the property. Crating him you have taken his duty away and he is trying to get his job done. Pyrs have always been the hardest for me to crate. I had one that we got his lard a** in and he literally rolled all over trying to bust out. Legs pushing on top of the crate.
She isn't confused you are. I would try rescue remedy if she must be in a crate. Pyrs are usually VERY good dogs and don't get into quite as much mischief as most puppies. If the rescue remedy doesn't work I suggest training her to be in the house without it.
You may want to put her in the crate during the day when you are at home. Then she will bark like crazy during the day. Pyrs do not like confinement. They were bred to patrol. I am sorry that where ever you got her did not explain this to you. They are a difficult breed but you will reap great rewards if trained properly.
You could even contact Bigdog rescue for advice.

not sure she is in the processof getting use to the crate ,,is the crate needed ? if you are home all day , why the need for the crate? i would venture to guess if you took away the crate she would be a much happier dog, i could see using the crate for when you are not home but if you are home with the dog all the time why even use the crate at night,i am sure she is trained by now ,!

well dont give in to her crys at night or she will always cry....
more play in the day - particularly before bed time.. these dogs were bred to keep sheep company so being a lone is very hard for them - leave a radio on softly in the room with her crate...
more play more play more play - obedicence lessons will stimulate her mind and help her to calm down at night also - remove food 3 hours before bed time

he's amazingly youthful and maximum possibly, misses his mom and the animal closeness that he felt whilst he became into asleep. What you ought to do is ascertain that he has a brilliant crate (no longer that i in my view have confidence in crating aniumals, yet some human beings do it), a blanket in the crate, and that's advisable to place a ticking clock in it for some weeks. This mimics the mum's heartbeat and he would desire to be waiting to sleep, and not shop you adult males up. stable luck!

Leave radio on with soft music for her, a low light, a ticking clock to mimic her mom's heartbeat, a t-shirt or something with your scent on it, and maybe a hotwater bottle wrapped in a towel. Also take a sheet and cover the crate to signify it's bedtime.

Haha. xP I had a similar problem when I got my pup 6 months ago.... He would sleep during the day, and kept me up at night. So, I decided to keep /him/ up when he was tired... XD I'd keep him up aaalll day, and when he'd want to go lie down or go to sleep, I'd pick him back up and try to play with him and just annoy him as much as I could so he couldn't sleep. He'd actually fall over and kept dropping b/c he was so sleepy. XD And when night came, he was so tired, he had no choice but to go to sleep. XDDD
