Truthfully, if you are referring to intercourse, I would definitely respect that decision. But I would also try to talk you into other forms of gratification.

If you were my girl... I would probably already know why you were making this decision...if i didn't.... that would be my first question..because I would want to understand you better. Your request to stay celebit (spelling?) is something he should respect. If you choose later.... to change your mind..that should be something YOU do only after you are ready. I have been in this situation before... and my girlfriend told me she wanted to stay a virgin because she didn't want to lose it to someone that wouldn't appreciate it. I never tried to convince her to "give it up", but after a number of months with me, she decided that I was the right guy.

If you decide to stay a virgin.... kudos! It takes a very strong person to take the "higher" road, or the road less traveled. On the other hand, if you eventually change your mind, do so when you know you've found someone that's worthy of making a memory with. He will be with you for the rest of your life, and if he truly cares about you... he will put off his need to have sex (there are other options eh?).

Good Luck

P.S. Marlio has a good question... i just read it. Give it some thought. Good job Marlio

I think it's awesome to hear of so many people waiting to have sex. I am doing the same thing. I am 24, and am still waiting. I have an amazing boyfriend of 8 months, and he has completely respected my decision. He has never pressured me, although I know that he wants to take things further. I find it incredible that he is so attracted, but will put sex on the back burner in order to be with me.

It's nice not to have to worry about STDs and pregnancy, too. It's the absolute best birth control!

If your guy is worth your time, he will respect you.

We probably would not date very long unless our personalities clicked almost perfectly. I'm also sure I would at least attempt to "test the waters," because many people say things and do not follow through on keeping them. I say that not trying to sound like some sex-pig like most people will try to make it sound like, but sex is a part of the relationships I have. Thus, to me it is just a difference of tastes and opinions. Some people separate from conflicting views on religion, family, even the way they carry themselves or how they talk/act, so to me, it would just be us having different viewpoints, none of which makes you nor I better than the other. So I'm sure a friendship would still come from it.

I respect your position but try this scenario on for size. Suppose I told you that I really loved you and eventually wanted to marry you but that good sex was very important to me and a vital component of a good marriage as well and that I couldn't get married unless I knew that we were sexually compatible. Would you have sex before marriage?

My girlfriend did the same thing kinda, but not until marrage, just until she's ready, and I have no problem with that. I respect her as an individual and want to see her happy no matter what the cost. Love is funny sometimes...

My wife did the very think you are wanting to do. It showed me that my wife was a aewsome women with a great personality. She wasnt ready to give her body away to me untill she knew that I was commited to her 600% which was what happen when we got married, and let me just say,
The honeymoon was unbelievible, and every time we do it. all be cause we waited and kept our relationship with each other before we got married, about our relationship not about how horny we are

I'll respect your decision. Sex can wait but love is forever.

I would think that you are just telling it for formality or to defend that you are 100% virgin because you are having a secret lover in neighbourhood. We will marry tomorrow and if I found you are not a virgin, divorce next week
