Give him catsmilk before you leave ( warm it up a little), always say bye, make sure he has a clean litter box, a cat bed, and many different toys: such as a ball, maybe a mouse with rattles inside, a stuffed animal for it to attack, a little stuffed plush tou with bells attached, an old leather string belt ( ok these are all my cat's toys) and when you get home pick it up and say Hi. Also give it a bath @ least once a week, and in between use those pet wipes. Because the cat will be all over the furniture, an d even though it licks itself it is still dirty. Think about it, are you really clean if you were to lick yourself all over

Well my cats are indoors too. They love sitting in the window sill to watch life outside. They play with eachother and sleep ALOT! Other than that they get attention from me and the family. Cuddling, petting, chasin toys, etc.

Lots of love and attention, but don't overdo the attention.
Get him toys - little balls, smaller than ping-pong (they have them in vet stores), fake mice, and other tidbits - my cat cannot get enough of them, especially if I join him.
Also get him a larger toy, about his own size, to wrestle with (a soft and light one, of course - baby stuffed toys work great).
That way you will know he is not bored while you cannot give him attention. But attention you must grant him, daily, by preference, as often as possible. I work long hours, but even when I get home too tired, I still take ten minutes to just play with him (that is separate from petting, grooming, feeding, cleaning, etc.); I can spend an hour playing with him without much effort. So can he, playing with me :))
Good luck, and enjoy!

I talk to her telling how much I love her. Anyway, in my eyes, if a cat is cared of and played with, showed a lot of love, it's certainly happy, even living indoors.
By the by, the thing my cat is afraid of exceedingly is everything that is outdoors.

Cats actually do like to play. Make sure that you have toys, something for your cat to play with and keep itself occupied. They like spending time with you and, believe it or not they like being talked to. It shows that you're paying attention. It may not be economical or reasonable for you, but the best decision I made was to get two cats. They have each other when my husband and I aren't around. They are best friends. Cats like to have friends, too, so you might think of getting a companion for your furry friend.

My cat also lives in doors, she never wants to go out.
I think she loves me :-) (I Hope) .
I have had her since she was a kitten, and always played with her.
Rolling pieces of paper into a ball, and let her play football with it.
I have got her simple toys like a bean bag, and little balls, and the best thing she likes is one of the toys on elastic hanging from the door, or ceiling. She plays with that for hours with it constanly moving while she plays.
Giving your cat attention, with stroking and talking to your cat.
The cat has no clue what your saying, but can understand kindness and love in your voice. (Sence).
Treat your cat like a baby, you cant go wrong.

play with her ,talkto her, pet her, keep her away from dogs (unless she likes them),if she is an outside cat do not give her a bath unless needed really really bad,try not to let other cats she does not like invade her territory, let her cat nap, occasionally feed her meat from not a can like roast beef, turkey or ham,do not interrypt her cat battles, do not sneek up on her , let her smell your hand before petting her(most of the time),do not hold her that much . if it is a him i am sorry i put her ohh yeah and do not whip her but that's a given

Spend loads of time playing and rotate toys so that your cat doesn't get too bored playing with the same ones.
