slc500 has a good point, often it's right in front of your face. I should say to you and all people like you slc, that nice guys don't always finish last and there can be a happy ending.
I was friends with my partner for over 4 years before we got together. I was in a really destructive relationship, and was constantly miserable. All he has ever been is a good and caring friend to me, but I realised how amazing he was after my old relationship ended and I started to think clearly again.
So if you are looking for something lasting and romantic, you could probably do a lot worse than looking at the men around you who are your most trusted friends. These are the ones who really care about you, will go out of their way for you and who you probably have the most fun with. Relationships that really stand the test of time start slowly and get better with time. If you are friends before it goes further then there is already trust, care and respect present before things become more complicated.
If you are prepared to take a chance and break into the "friend zone" it could be the best thing you ever did.
It was in my case anyway.

Yes we are, it all depends on what level of romance you are looking for.
If you want the guy that sends you 6ft hallmark cards with the picture of the Chernobyl puppy on the front of it then, and has to call you ten times a day to make sure that you are not cheating on him. then so be it.
However if you want a mature New Romantic guy then there are loads of out there, We are Charming, sophisticated, well groomed, and know who to conduct ourselves in a relationship.
We also have a taste for the better things in life, Sorry a KFC Bucket is not a romantic meal for two, free coleslaw or no free coleslaw.

It is such a shame that you even have to ask such a question as the one above. There are many romantic men alive and well in this world, and are crying out to meet a girl such as yourself. Most men it seems have become besotted with the idea that "macho is best", and have lost the feminine side of their persona. As a straight single guy, I find this very discouraging, and I believe that if you look in the right places you will find the romantic man of your dreams. Good luck, and god bless.

Yes we are still out here ! just trying to get past the laddet season of life, there's nowt wrong with romance it just seems that when we try a little some females think all we want to do is get them into bed, when in fact all we want to do sometimes is just have a good night out, or a good night in with pleasant company, bottle of wine good food, and a little romantic music, soft candle light, and believe it or not some adult conversation. The art of romance is still out here we just have to search a little harder to share the special times with and hope that the memories last a little longer than the candles or that extra slow smoochy song! love to live, and not live to love, as it has been said many times before and will be said many times over it is better to have loved once and not to have loved at all, to give a little respect and behave like a gentleman cost nothing but your time and good manners.

yes i feel im very romantic.there are different ways to treat a woman dependant on how much you like her. i met my partner on the train and we exchanged phone numbers. when it came to our first date we were both very nervous as this was only the second time we had met(the date was a night around the town on a saturday night) to calm the nerves i suggested that we go to a quiet pub first for a chat and see how the night progressed. so we had a very long chat getting to know each other and before we knew it, it was closing time. even though this was not significantly romantic it was a small thing to show her i really wanted to get to know her
