I have a friend who was stationed at Diego. It is extremely safe. There are no civilian areas, it is strictly closed to the outside world. He will be very bored for those three weeks outside of work.

DG could well be the safest spot on earth.

I'm serious, look at an atlas to see where it is and then remember that it's a tiny, tiny spot way out in the ocean inhabited ONLY by the British and US military along with their civilian contractors.

Think Guantanamo Bay way out in the ocean without Cuba attached to it and you'll have the idea.

Oh no, not Diego Garcia!!!

Well, one thing you dont haveto worry about is him ever messing around on you there. Its all military, and everyone I've ever known who has been there says the same thing, Its very boring and bring plenty of magazines of ill repute. If you know what I'm saying... wink wink...

I was stationed on Diego for a year. Although there is not much to do, your husband will be safe.

It's as safe as any small, basically unhabited island can be. Mainly a Navy base, I think it may be technically British owned, but there's nothing there but sun, sea, sand, and the native wildlife.

Very safe as the brits ethnically cleansed the native people several years ago. Don't believe me look it up.

It is an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean with no way in and no way out other than military planes. He is safer there than you are going to the mall!!!!!!
