I have one two year old girl and one three year old boy. I stay at home with them and entertaining them can be a challenge sometimes. Here are some things we do:

1. Dye noodles, let the child help shake the bags (zip lock bag, 2/3 drips of food coloring-do the night before). Put some glue on a small styrofoam plate and let him/her glue the noodles onto a picture. Also depending on the noodle, make necklaces. They have fun with that and it helps with their fine motor skills.

2. Shaving cream is always lots of fun. Just spray a bit on the table and let her go for it. They love it! Make letters, numbers, and shapes, to help teach basic skills.

3. Bubbles. They LOVE bubbles. Invest in a cheap bubble gun and go for it. This is good for atleast 15 minutes.

4. Buy some CD's with interactive actions. (touch your toes, move like an animal). It's great exercise and toddlers LOVE to see mommy/daddy be silly.

5. Side walk chalk. If you have a garage that you don't mind markin up, let him color on the floor and walls. It helps spark some creativity in the child AND fulfills every kids desire to write on the wall (even your inner kid). It wipes off with a wet cloth. If this doesn't interest you, or feel he/she isn't ready to distinguish the garage wall from the kitchen's, stick to the driveway, they love it either way.

6. Playdough. Self explanatory. Watch 'em though. They WILL try to eat the pink pizza.

7. Have a tea party. This will require buying a tea set, but it's worth it. If you only have a boy, get a work bench set, hammer and drill to his hearts content. OR just call it a party, and then it's gender neutral.

I hope some of this helps. If you would like some more ideas you can email me (cmwiley04@yahoo.com).

Have FUN!!!

My daughter is 2 and we like to play with play dough. We spread newspaper out on the kitchen floor and sit on the paper so the mess is easy to clean up. Another thing we do alot of is dancing and singing. She also loves water, so we play in a little kiddie pool in the shade. P.S. Hope you have lots of fun whatever you do!

I'm babysitting one 2 year old boy, and we're always having so much fun.

You can play hide and seek, you can dance with him, spin him in the air, play with the ball, drive the cars he has around the house, get him outside for a walk, a play time in the park and stuff like that...
