Join a club or sport that have a lot of guys. Hang out with the guys. I have a blast just hanging out with the boys, even though I wasn't looking to cuddle. I can't be around girls all the time either. But don't focus on the bf aspect. Just have fun! When a guy sees a gal that is happy and confident, he will be interested. If you let them know that you really want a bf, they will run away.

Its easy for a good looking girl to pull in a guy. If you approach a guy somewhere and ask him out, you probably wont get denied unless he has a g/f. And if you go to a bar, you will probably get hit on by everyone. Especially a sportsbar, where its all dudes, and as soon as a hottie walks in, everyone stares at her and finally some dude will have the balls to talk to her.

I would start by not thinking much about it but make amends to my daily lifestyle. Start opening up or expanding to male friends whether or not they will become bfs that time will tell. There are ways to do it, go online, pen friends, friends through introduction, get togethers etc. Plus anything done in desperation can lead to problems that you dont have today.

Find a joke online that you think is really funny, learn a couple, it will always help when you dont know what to say, I can tell by how your write your a texter, get his number & send him silly things...it breaks the ice easier, also pay attection to what he says, & then ask him about it the next day... it will start a conversation
