Does the Singapore Idol fever still hit singaporeans? it seems like many singaporeans are losing interest in these kind of reality programmes.

No. There is absolutely no talent on the programme. The contestants cant sing, there are better karaoke singers on Saturday night in pubs that I rather listen too. And they keep repeating the trash on every channel and TV mobile. It's torture.

Sadly yes, I still watch Singapore Idol. EXcept for one or two singers, the rest are misfits. They can't sing and just because they are cute or whatever, they get to return week after week.
The fans are voting blindly, and the judges? Why can't Jacinta speak simple Engish and be understood? Most times she leaves a question mark on the contestants' head. Who gets voted out next? That seems to be the only interest of most Singaporean.

It's fine if it's just a couple of seasons. But if they really want to air Singapore Idol in the long run, the producers better think of new ideas and concepts regularly. Otherwise people will be bored with the same old antics. Perhaps, Singapore Idol could learn from other countries which air their own version of Idol programmes....Australia Idol is super kickass coz it comes with a full orchestra and dynamic showmanship.

BOTH!!! Ken's message from the last show has probably said it all. Singapore wake up!!! I couldn't even believe it when they sent Mathilda home last week.. they have already voted out at least 3 people (Gayle, Jay and Rahimah) who deserve a LOT more to be in the top 6. THE VERY ESSENCE OF A SINGING COMPETITION IS TO BE ABLE TO APPRECIATE THE MUSIC EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T VISUALLY SEE THE SINGER HIM/HERSELF. Don't get me wrong, I personally like those still referred to as young-and-quite-tuneless in top 6 but this is a SINGING COMPETITION. I doubt if some of them can still HONESTLY say to themselves/their family/friends they deserve more, talent wise, than those already ousted (because if they do, then I'll be more than willing to spend 60 cents to vote for him/her). Do the voters really listen and watch the show? They've probably don't realize how much of Singapore's local music industry they've already put down to its pits. If Hady or Jonathan gets voted out next, Mediacorp will just give its audience one BIG reason NOT to watch the show anymore.

No. Why won't TCS abandon the show? It's becoming an agony and an ordeal. We simply don't have talent to sustain the show! I think I can see why. For all this money TCS makes from people who call in and advertising revenue, TCS does not have to expend any capital in originality or creativity. That is why TCS expanded the genre to Channel U Superstar, Comic King, Superband, etc. Whipping a dead horse.

It's okay I guess, I watch it. As long as they don't make tons of seasons, like American Idol, I'm fine with it. But it's the only reality TV show that I watch.
