A $50 donation to the Humane Society or something like that. Then they gave me a coupon to go to my vet to get it done. Not all vets accept the coupon, though. When I first looked, they wanted at least $250.
ps. Male dogs are cheaper to fix than female dogs

Vets charge by the weight of the dog. Weigh your dog. Do this by standing on a scale by yourself. Then weigh with both you and the dog. Subtract the 2 numbers to get the weight of the dog. Now call your vet with the dog's weight and they can tell you the cost for your dog. Different parts of the country have varing charges so we can't tell you .

Going to vary vet to vet. Call the shelter and ask if they have a lost cost neuter clinic they can recommend.

Check with the rescue you adopted him from. It should have been in cluded in the adoption fee. A rescue that doesn't alter is not a good rescue.
