I think religions are guidelines to lead us on the right path of life. It is important to teach a young child good moral values and i think religion is a tool to do so. All religions teach the same fundamental values such as do not lie, do not steal, respect your elders etc. Therefore, yes I think it is important to have a religion and learn the good values the religion teaches but i don't think it is a must to accept and follow ALL the customs associated with it especially if it clashes with our way of life or our principles. For example, I am a Hindu and a female Hindu devotee cannot pray in a temple if she is having her mensus. No offence to other devotees, but I personally think this is absurd because women are designed by God to be this way and there is no reason as to why women should not be allowed to pray in a temple during this period of time. Are we sinners or are we dirtier than dogs and that is why we are not allowed into the holy shrine? So, I think people should embrace a religion but not follow its rituals like an automaton. I don't think there is any harm in bending some simple, small rules as long as it makes sense and does not hurt or harm anyone.

No it's not important if you know is in you all along...that you live your life as the great Jesus did...that in itself is its own religion. Actually, living this way, you'll be surprised at all the power you develop day by day.
This is precisely why all the religions would start up a religion in the first place is to keep the masses in check. "oh no, they say,...we can't possibly have thousands of people declaring God is within them....God is over here, in this book, in this religion...all those other religeons have it all wrong!!""
How obsurd.
Know that God is within and you'll never go without. That should be enough.

Yes.
Basically all religion teaches the different between good and bad (evil).
It Creat's a fear in you. So you avoid doing the wrong (evil/sinful) things as often as possible.
You will try to live a 'good' life.

To some people it is important to have a religion...or just to have religion. Maybe it's more of having faith in a religion.
In my family, religion is important. It was never forced on us (my brother and me) but we were raised with religion and having faith.

I find it important, but I'm not going to say it is important for YOU to have a religion. It is important to me to have my religion.

religion may not be as important as faith, but without religious partners it is easier to "slide". so they go hand in hand, basically. But each to their own.
