If you believe there is no God,then you also believe there is no Heaven or Hell,so you cannot go there can you!!Each of us has different belief's,but those belief's are our own,and should not be forced onto others. Its not for you to critise others or call them weak and pathetic for believing, the same way I'm sure you would not want me to tell you that YOU are weak and pathetic for not believing.I was brought up in the Catholic Faith,I was forced into a Faith that I did not want to be in!That was enough for me. I'm not a Religious person at all,but do respect others views and opinions. How do any of us know for sure what is/was/will be,we don't,so maybe an open mind may be the best way to go. I do however believe that Religion does have a lot to answer to,as it appears to be the one issue that causes more problems than anything else throughout the world, not to mention violence and hatred!!!

If you notice, the "religious" people who use violence, persecution, etc. are always the fundamentalist faction of whatever particular religion it is. In any religion there are some who use it to be a better person, seek god, and love their neighbors, and some others (again, usually the fundamentalists, whether Christian, Muslim or whatever) who misuse it. Religion doesn't make people good or bad. Funny how it always comes down to human choices, human responsibility, and human conscience?
Just because there is no evidence for something doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't exist. Personally, I believe some things can be neither proved nor disproved, which puts them outside the realm of science and into the realm of faith. But of course each person's belief or non-belief is their own personal business, in a country that has freedom of religion (for the time being, at least...)
I'm spiritual but not a religious fanatic and I don't believe that a loving god would send any of his children to eternal suffering and damnation, no matter what they did. What a cr*ppy parent if he did.

If you don't believe in God, then you probably don't believe in hell either if you think about it.
I do believe in God, no proof, I just believe. The questions you ask cannot be answered. I don't think the most religious people are the most violent. I believe that racist, ignorant, people are the most violent. Religion isn't a burden to the world. It may be a burden to you because you have a hobby of trying to disprove it.
Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs but should be considerate of others beliefs also.

I think that you sound like a pretty intelligent person. But I think that you are looking in the wrong place to find GOD. Your probably looking for an argument. But it is like this, If you believe it is by faith and no evidence is necessary. If you do not beleive and do not wish to then no evidence is enough. I am no dummy sir; Because I have placed my faith in God. I garauntee if you were standing here in front of me you would not say things like that. I have a substantial I. Q. and I have researched this question more than you. If you beleive in Evolution you are probably only looking at the things that academia tells you about and not all of the provable evidence that is out there. I think that it would take far more faith to beleive in the a hope that at one time all of the essential elements for life came together out of dead matter and then "poof" the first organism just happened. Also you may want to consider one other thing? (In humans at least) What is death? All of your make-up and elements are still present but you are no longer alive what changes? Be careful when you answer this question because you may find out that you are a soul and have a body. Good luck on your search, that is if you are really searching and not just flapping your gums.
P.S. Tolerance and peace are not in the Bible (and definately not in the Koran). The Lord Christ said that a mans enemies would be that of his own household... That doesn't sound like peace and love to me does it to you? The doctrine of Christ says you will make a choice either him or the world. There is no gray area. Yes, if you refuse Christ as yours then you will go to hell. But don't take my word for it... wait and see for yourself.

You will go to Hell for your Sins ...not for not believing in God..
this is law of Karma...
Why do you say no one has evidence of God ???
Just because you don't have or some famous religious groups don't have you think there is no Proof ??
Vedic Literature give very concrete Proof of God and also gives method to Physically See him, Hear him, Talk to Him, Live with Him ...what more proof you want ???
But will you come ahead to follow the Process ??
There are many in the past who have full experience of God and many in present to and there will be many in Future too ...
you may be among the unfortunate ..so what can be done ....
You say people who believe are weak and then you say they are very Strong to be violent ... You seem to be confused ..why don't you make up your mind before saying something ??

Hi Ben
I don't think it's possible not to believe; your question suggets that yours is a searching faith.
Gods as an abstraction is pretty useless. Perhaps you are like me a person who is deeply emotionally dislocated and disturbed.
That's a problem because you need to get to recognise the emotional forces that are driving you, even on a very basic level; for example: are you hungry? when did you last eat? is there an arguement you had with a friend or lover you need to resolve?...and so on
And please banish all toxins and stimulants from your diet and try to become quiet inside.
What you'll find in there, at the centre of your being, is a yearning to be loved...it's in us all.
But how to achieve that without compromising vital aspects of self - that's the problem.
But if we put too much ego out there we repel love and so become lonely and lost.
You don't need science to know yourself just a lot of honesty and time and interaction.....and patience and gentleness, with self.
God's way down the line...he can wait along time for your song of praise...and just because you don't believe in him doesn't mean he doesn't believe in you....ah...ha!
But there are worse things than not believing in God; not believing in society, firstly; not believing in relationship for two; but my own personal worst is those who do not believe in beauty...That's where I begin to get very wicked and my Satanic side comes into play....I just hate the way all the beauty is being destroyed and the way the people are becoming uglier and uglier...all externality and cosmetics...find yourself an ordinary decent woman and tuck into her...for a long time...as in decades (it's a good thing)
There I've shared....But has it helped?

Religion was never meant to be law. It was meant to be guidelines. All the stories in the bible are metaphors - you'd be crazy to think that they actually happened.
Some people that believe in God are not weak and pathetic - because they believe that "God" is not a spirit but rather a way of living your life with values.
But then there are the people who worship to no end but have very very little understanding of religion whatsoever. They take it litarally, and way too much so.
Its the people who put too much stock in religion that cause the problems and the wars. Its the people who only see the bible but cannot comprehend the good advice (and tahts all it is people, its just advice, not truth or law) inside it.
There is nothing wrong with religion the way it was intended - but way too many people are using it in the wrong way and thats where the nutters and crazies come from.

If you don't know if there is a god or not and if he exists or not, then how do you know if there is a hell and if it exists or not? Pray for god's wisdom to help you and to work with you...by the way, the US and the Arab world are just names of countries and nothing else, god created the world and he can turn them into dust....just a poooooof will do....If you want to find god....find someone who has found god...it is an awesome experience and you will never be the same again. Arn't you the blessed one who seem to have a solution to life's problems...Hmmmm.....

you are a sad soul. If you believe in God he proves himself to you over and over. It isn't sad and pathetic - not believing is. You have the whole conception wrong - we don't just let God fix our problems and blame it all on him. We have to do for ourselves in order for God to do for us. We believe in ourselves and sort our lives, we just try to do it the right way that God has set out and sometimes we need guidence. You really should understand before you judge.
Another thing - God is real - there is no other God but him - A lot of people worship idols and other Gods - those are false - God is the one true God and the Christian religion is not to blame for violent acts. If you are a true Christian and walk with God - then you are not violent. The other religions - God help them, I think someone else has a hand in it. But ultimatly no matter what religion you are - you have your own right to choose what you do and don't do. It is free will - people are violent - not religion.
God does answer prayer, but he won't help those who don't help themselves and you have to ask and give him permission so to say for him to step in and help with your life. He won't just do it. You also have to give back - you can't just expect it to be handed over.
I hope you change your mind before it is too late.

You don't believe yet and your not dead yet so you don't have to worry about death or hell. I hope you will understand if I do not accept your confirmation of God's non existence, having any value outside your own ignorant self importance. Your sense of power will wean when you loose control of your bladder and bowels, death will appear significantly more formidable then and you might start looking for what you have chosen not to see.
The lack of evidence acceptable to you, proves only your lack of acceptance.
Tell me do you find self belief solves your problems. Can you explain yourself, did you deliver the two zygotes into the womb you formed and nourish yourself with you own blood and then later push yourself into the light of day and feed from your own breast. Are you self generated, excuse me for not kneeling.
What is it you believe of yourself? If you are happy to be for 80 years and then not be, then enjoy your happiness. Me, I think the universe and my place in it is a gift and I should be giving thanks.
Still, Im all for sorting out life's problems, maybe we can still do that together.
