jewish people can eat any meat. If they are orthodox, it must be kosher. However, they can't mix their meat and cheese plates together because they are products from the same animal. Christians eat whatever, unless it's lent then they can't eat meat on fridays, only fish.

The dietary laws prohibit the Hebrew people from eating: camel, rabbit, pig, snake, shellfish, any meat that is cooked (or served) with a milk product, and blood. To be kosher the meat must be slaughtered and cooked in a manner that lives up to the dietary laws. For more details you can look at the book of Leviticus especially the 11th chapter.

As for Christians, all food have been deemed as clean based on Peter's testimony in Acts chapter 11 and others places in the New Testament, so technically, there are no foods that are forbidden for Christians.

There is some rule for Jewish that they can't eat meat from an animal with a certain kind of hoof. Pigs are an example of it. Christians can eat any meat we want, though some Catholics still observe the rule of no meat (other than fish) on Friday's.

You can find the Dietary Health Laws in Leviticus 11. They were given by God to his people to help them keep their bodys healthy and to help prolong their lives. They were not mandatory, unless you did not want to do the will of God. There are a few Christians who still keep these health laws, such as the Sabbath(Saturday) keeping Denominations. They keep these laws because our bodies have not changed since Adam and Eve. They, along with the laws of Diseases and Quarantines are a great tool in promoting that God is real. Scientists today unwittingly back up each and everyone of God's instructions on health practices.Yet, modern science did not come to its conclusions until roughly in the last 100 years. Looks like God was right all along! Hope this helps you. The Seventh Day Adventist's promote abstaining from all meats. They feel that in the Millenium Reign, that animals will be present along with Christ(the lion will lay down with the lamb;the lion will eat straw) that we will not be eating the flesh of dead animals, so they are practicing abstaining from it now.

The Bible specifies what type of meat you can eat. You can eat anything with a cloven hoof and that chews its cud (re-chews its food).
Jewish people do not eat pork or camel a few others some chew their cud but have no cloven hoof. Others have cloven hoof but do not chew their cud. Also other religions follow these laws: muslims or seventh day Adventists and a few other religions. you can eat most birds except vulture and that type of bird. The only thing from the ocean are fish with scales. No shell fish or crabs etc. Some believe this law changed when Jesus came but I see no where that it says it changed and jesus followed the law.

The Jewish law says the jews can't eat cloven hoofed creatures that don't chew their cud, camels, pigs, etc., nor shellfish and you can't eat meat & cheese together. When you think about it, it makes sense, rare pork can kill you, many people are allergic to shellfish and die from it, and its lately become knowledge that eating meat & cheese together isn't healthy. I believe kosher meat has to be killed a certain way too.

Christians are not under the Jewish dietary laws according to Paul, but I sometimes wonder where exactly Paul got his information, since some of what he says sort of contradicts what Christ did. Part of me wants Paul to be right because I really like crab legs and sausage, but not at the expense of my soul.

WOW,

After Jesus Fulfilled the Old Testament, the dietary laws were no longer needed. Do Muslims believe that Christians are going to hell because we ate some Sausage? Or a Pork Chop?

But Muslims are going to heaven for following a man that married (in every sense of married) a 9 year old girl?

Get real!

Catholics abstain from all red meat on ash Wednesday, and all Fridays in lent. We also limit ourselves to one small meal on these same days. There is no anti-sex law during lent.

Peace!

For Jewish dietary laws just search for "kosher'.

Generally of the animals we eat now, its no pork and only fish with scales (no shellfish or shark or catfish or squid etc) .
Serving milk and meat at the same meal is also forbidden.

I don't see why Christians won't be allowed to eat meat. Unless you mean the lent week for Catholics. They don't eat red meat during that whole week of good Friday because it represents the body of Christ or so. They don't even have sex during that week. It's meant to do sacrifices (and I don't mean killing black cats or virgins). Sacrifices as in depriving themselves from pleasures, in memory of the immolation our lord received prior to his death for our sins. As for the Jewish, I don't know much about them or their currencies, so I can't answer that part of your question.

Meat from a pig is forbidden. They also cannot mix dairy and meat....it's called "keeping kosher."

Christians don't have any food restrictions.
