How do you fit headlamp converters to a Renault Megane?

If you buy the converters from Halfords, it will come with a sheet with a lot of diagrams, and a list of cars, telling you which diagram is right for which car.
The problem is the Halfords converters are a nightmare to remove compared to the ones sold by the Renault dealers, and block the light rather than bending it, so aren't as good.

However, if your Mégane has xenon headlamps (like mine), its not on the list - but I've worked out (by parking the car facing a wall and looking at the beam pattern that you need the deflector to cover the bottom half of the headlamp's projector lens (viewed from straight ahead - you'll need to get your eyes down to headlamp level - make sure the lights are off first or you'll blind yourself), and offset about 5mm to the passenger's side.
I don't know where it goes on a Mégane II with standard headlamps, or an older Mégane, but I'll look it up later.

A pre-1999 Mégane should have markings on the lens.

The front lights shouldn't be any different on a hatchback, coupé-cabrio, estate or saloon.
