No toy will make your child talk...but anything that teaches the alphabet and colors and numbers will definitely help teach your child the fundamentals. Also make sure you are reading to him/her every day and having "conversations" with him/her.

I don't know that there are any toys that can make a child talk. I'm sure he'll talk when he's ready.
I don't know the situation, but sometimes a child won't talk if he doesn't have to. When he wants something, try to make him vocalize what he wants instead of pointing, etc.

Read the newspaper to your child
Read magazines to your child
Read your favorite books to your child
Read your child's favorite books to him/her
Narrate the day. If she's eating carrots for a snack. Say Sara, you're eating carrots. Carrots are orange. Mommy likes carrots too. Carrots are good for you. I'm glad you like eating carrots.
When you're giving her a bath say i'm washing your toes, i'm washing your legs, i'm washing your knees, your back, tummy, arms, hands, fingers....etc....
Take her around the house and say sara, what is this? (point at the floor) and then say Floor, sara, this is the floor. Do the same thing for the ceiling, walls, windows, tv, playpen, crib, books, refrigerator, oven, drawers, cabinets, chairs, tables, forks, spoons, cups, toilet, bathtub, etc.......**I did this with my daughter and she is 14 months old and says "What" and bangs her hand against whatever it is she's wanting to know. She's only saying 7 words but she knows many more because if I tell her to throw her dirty clothes in her basket she does it. If I tell her to put her toys in the box, she does it.

I would suggest getting some baby sign language board books. Language skills are language skills, and just because your child doesn't vocalize, doesn't mean he/she can't communicate.
Teaching baby signs for things like "more," "sleep," "milk," and other common toddler words will help your baby communicate with you and get you past all of the frustration that comes with not knowing what they want.
Also, when you talk to your baby, give him/her a chance to answer, but don't pressure them to do so. For instance: "My favorite animal is the cat. What animal do you like?" If they don't answer, just move on. One day, they'll shock you and answer

Im not sure about toys but just constantly talking to your child can help them to be more verbal. jMy mother talked to me constantly about everythiing she saw and did and I talked very early. I talked to my children constantly as if they could understand me and they alll talked early.

How about you encourage it, rather than relying on toys. Read a lot, sing, play games, etc.

no toy will make your child talk..but if you talk clearly to him/her and dont talk in "baby talk" they learn quicker....and he/she will talk when they are ready...ask the childs ped. and see if they think you should be concerned
