I am sorry to hear you have been disrespected for being open in even asking! There are always some poor fruit at the bottom of the barrel, which does rot the whole lot!
I would suspect that you are asking questions to people who are not able to help you understand, either by lack of knowledge and/or teaching skills. By the sound of your yahoo id, I suspect you may be asking the questions initially for shock value, which would mislead most anyone to feel defensive and unsure if you really are seeking understanding or argument.
I feel I may be direct with you here as you are yourself. I spent may years in my own mind, alone, bitter and blind to how anyone could find any real peace in this world. I had to humble myself so I could be in a position to start to learn. Even that can be difficult still today because the real world is cruel.
You need to find one good, patient teacher. Asking many people from different arenas will surely only lead to confusion. A lot of people in the Body of Christ are there having found no other way. Many are there to work through things quite traumatic. We all fall short of the glory of GOD.
Here is a quick illistartion that may help you with an approach... A group of people were sitting in a circle talking one afternoon and watched a stray dog approaching them. No one had ever seen the dog before in the neighborhood. He had his head down slightly, tail wagging. He did not approach fast or too shyly, but came directly and peacefully.
At first the group's reaction was fear, perhaps the dog was rabid and may bite. But the dog came steady and openly to the group. As he calmly and confidently approached to the people they were happy to receive him. The dog went from person to person in the same way. He licked their hands and gave the same tail wagging welcome to each person. The people had to comment about how lovely the dog was in approaching them and how their fear turned to open apprecation because the dog was so respectful of them.
Approaching Christianity, like a friendly, stray dog approaching a group of strangers is more receiving if that person wants love and understanding. You must find a common and nuteral appoarch. It seems too difficult for most of us to see ourselves approach a group of strangers like that dog, but his attitude won their hearts, respect and trust.
Be encouraged that you still wish to seek understanding. Keep trying and you will be bless with what you seek! Ask God to lead you to the right teacher and He will!
I asked God to lead me to that person who could teach me (I had been told by many there was no teaching me anything) and He did give me that person and yes I am teachable. Ask in faith and you will receive.

People can be rude, this applies to all races and religions. Some of the most wonderful people I have ever know have been Christian, as well as Jewish, Buddhist, etc.. In contrast some of the rudest are affiliated with various religions, and as far as I know that is not a trait commendable in any religion.I believe it's ignorance that makes people rude when answering a religious based questions. I also believe that many people on this board answer for a reaction and they probably do not truly feel the way they respond. If you want responsible answers to any religious questions that you may have, I would suggest seeking out various legitimate religious leaders in your community.

There are bad seeds in every group. It may also be that your previous question is one that many Christians constantly come across and so they may get tired of answering it. As an atheist, I do occasionally get frustrated when yet another Christian apologist pulls out the same old, long-refuted argument about some issue or another. Still, there is no reason to turn that frustration into a personal attack on the asker. People of all faiths (or the lack thereof) have the capacity to act like complete jerks at times. The best you can do is ignore it and move on.

I looked at your last question and I saw some polite and informative answers along with some rude answers. Just because a person claims to be a Christian doesn't mean that they really are a Christian, even if they personally consider themselves to be a Christian.

Jesus gave us this parable about the "wheat" and the "tares". Tares are a poisonous weed that looks just like wheat until it gets time for the harvest. In the same way there are many "poisonous weeds" in this world who take the name of Christ in vain and who cause people to think poorly of Christians as a whole.

"Another parable He set before them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man sowing good seed in his field. But while the men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went away. But when the stalk had sprouted and produced fruit, then the tares also appeared.

So the servants of the master of the house approached and said to him, 'Sir, was it not good seed you sowed in your field? From where then does it have tares?'

"He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' So the servants said to him, 'Do you wish then that we should go and gather them up?' "But he said, 'No, lest gathering up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Leave both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares, and bind them into bundles to burn them, but gather together the wheat into my barn." ' " Matthew 13:24-30

"Then having dismissed the crowds, Jesus went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field." He answered and said to them: "He that sows the good seed is the Son of Man. And the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the evil one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore just as the tares are gathered and burned with fire, thus it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who work iniquity, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:36-42

Rude people are rude. Being a christian has nothing to do with being rude. Don't get the two mixed up. There are just some really rude people here and elsewhere for a fact.

If you got a rude answer it didn't come from a christian, it came from a hypocrite. True christians are not rude. If you have a question, I would be more than happy to try and answer it to the best of my ability. God Bless You.

Well hardcorehate... your name says it all. I do think that some Christians especially on this site are offended by most people that make fun of God whom we love and respect. It is sometimes difficult to know who is asking a question out of curiosity and who is trying to make fun of our Christians. But you are right, even if we are being teased and made fun of we are not suppose to be rude. But then again we are also just human. There are some of these remarks that make me mad enough to be very rude.

It is not about Christians that is rude, is it about feeling strong about what we believe in.

You only asked one question (besides this one) in the Religion section. It dealt with the Bible not mentioning dinosaurs.

You received 30 answers to that question.

In only two of those answers were you treated rudely or called stupid.

Most of the other answerers took the time to give you thought-out, reasoned answers.

For you to imply that ALL Christians are rude because of 2 out of 30 answers is, no offense, wrong.

What's even more wrong is that you show no appreciation whatsoever to the other 25 or so people who took time out of their lives to answer your question completely, logically, and respectfully.

I suggest you rethink your stance.

understand that it is not the true christian that is rude. It is the uneducated and spiteful bleeges that pretend to be christians so as to turn you away from having a meaningful relationship with the christ.

The pretenders outnumber the true christians. You must look more carefully.

a TRUE Christian would have attempted to answer your question in love and if they didn't have the answer should have redirected you to one who does, I am sorry you feel that way about ALL Christians based on that one incident, if someone of a different religion or even color offends you, I don't think you should discredit the entire group, come on now.
