are you really going to base your decision on whether there is more overweight soldier in the army than skinny? that's not a practical way of making your decision...maybe i can help...why don't you lay out all your options other than joining the military, since i don't know what those are...i can only give you an idea of what to expect to gain from the Army (active duty)...well not only is the Army have the fastest promotion rate but alot more jobs available then our sister services...that's a wide range of jobs we train you in that prepare you for the civilian world and better pay, but while in the Army alone, you'll be earning more money and trained receive the best training for working under pressure and attention to detail...while on active duty school is free...when you first join you have the option to receive the MGIB and pay off your current loans now, there's soo much more to gain from the Army...that's just a taste of what else you can use or think about when choosing to join or not...good luck...

Weight has everything to do when it comes to the military. You are definitely better off skinny than fat. Unfortunately appearance has everything to do with how you are viewed. You can be an awesome soldier but have a beer gut and some sergeant major will see you and think you are a piece. You can be some major eff off $hit bag but be buff as hell and you will get promoted and promoted. My advice: dont worry about it, stay in shape and you will be fine.

LOL, girl you won't even have time to think about guys after they break your tail off in basic. However the military has weight standards which if not honored could result in discharge or counseling! Lastly, if your skinny honey the will make sure you gain weight to be the right weight for your age and height! Good luck and uh don't act like a lush at basic the Drill's will really clown you!

Yes there are overweight people in the military(army). But as long as your neck is big enough, you're ok.

and Glen - I've reported your post. That is an insult the the Army and my husband who is NOT a child rapist - but a stand up guy to our children and to our country.

You have to be poor to be in the army. Poor people are generally skinny. Why do you want to kill Arabs a.k.a. join the army? Bush is waging an illeagal war over lies you may want to join after the war ends a.k.a. when a god loving president takes over.
