I would stand strong and tell them that I am not interested. I would then seek out assistance in my neighborhood who also stand strong against them. You do not have to violently oppose them, just not be one of them. Find others who are also not gang members.

Just have as little to do with them as possible. If they aprouch you then say Hi and let them you don't want to be part of anything. Treat them like people and they will stay out of your way. Gangs usally don't want trouble with new comers they just want to know where you stand and if you are a threat. Just be cool with them.

I lived in an area like that for awhile, all by myself when my husband was overseas. Honestly, the worst thing you can do is anything negative towards them. If you were to join some group against them you could be making yourself a target, leave that for people without children. More than likely you will only run into them at gas stations or shopping centers. Don't overly go out of your way to avoid them, like not talking or looking at them when they talk to you. That will get them upset and they'll try to start something. Just be friendly and keep your sentances short if you happen to bump into someone sketchy. I used to get hit on when I was getting gas down the street, and at first I ignored them and they got up in my face threatening me. I found that if I just smiled and told them I was married like they were any other person they would be on there way. Sorry youre in such a bad part of town, just learn to get in different habits. Like locking your doors and teaching your kids to avoid strangers.

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. Oh dear. What a nasty situation. I'd be worried about my kids getting into the gang lifestyle. I'm sorry to hear that you are forced to live in a gang area - I hope you don't have any trouble. Good luck to you, though!

Well God says love your enemies, your just going to have to get around it. Protect your children from danger, but do not harm, or even hate these guys.
If somebody approaches you like this, try telling them about the love of Jesus.
Most of all really pray and ask God for his protection, and also pray that you might bring one of these people to Christ some how, Christ died for everybody, he loved you while you were still his enemy, its hard, but try to live by the Bible, and ask God for help, especially because of your children

Look for another place to live.
It would depend on what they are approaching you for?
Robbery - give it to them things can be replaced.
Want to join - Tell them no and invite them to church.
Most of all stay calm. You panic and they think you are really afraid they will continue to harass you.
