The say 'we should eat five portions of fruit and veg a day' does this meen, 5 fruit and 5 veg (10 portions a day) or just like 3 veg and 2 fruit or whatever. No guesses please, i could do that myseld

It's a mix and match recommendation, because the more combinations the better to get all the possible nutrients. As someone else commented, 5 fruits/veggies is really a minimum. 8 is optimal.

Maybe you can go with 2 pieces of fruit a day, say one with breakfast, one as a snack after lunch say around 2 or 3. For your veggies you can maybe have 3 servings, Two servings in a salad with lunch and one serving with your dinner. You can have a V8 veggie juice which is not that bad if you spice it up with pepper tobasco sause (if you like) a squirt of lemon. There is a lot you can do.

five total but now i think it is recommended to have more than five servings ... like 8
