I already take Aerius as an anti-histaminic. I'm looking for day to day stuff or ways you've beaten your own allergies.

you can ask your doctor to put you on Zyrtec, that works great for my boyfriend. but you should vacuum using arm and hammer powder stuff you put on your carpet before vacuuming it is called I think pet hair release. get an air purifier and run that 24/7. I would recommend vacuuming 2-3 times a week to start off with and then you can cut it back to once a week. Nature's Miracle has this dander reducer stuff that you spray either on your cat or on a paper towel and then you rub it into them.

There are special shampoos for helping keep the cat dander under control (dander is what keeps allergic people miserable)...or you can get weekly allergy shots to desensitize yourself. The shampoos work well, I've heard, but they need to be repeated weekly, and washing a cat is a challenge!

Well, when I first got my cats, I gave them baths every week.

Now, I get allergy shots every other week. After 4 years you are no longer allergic to things that bother you. I have been getting the shots for 1 year and my cats do not bother me at all.

Try to bathe the cat at least 2 times a week in plain water...it reduces the amount of dander...

Claritin, Benedryl, Zyrtec, Singulair - for control.

Allergy shots - for desensitization.

Vaccum and dust. Mop floors. Clean and have them brushed or kick them outside to live.
