No difficulty at all!
I did the trip several times and it takes about 5 hours including border control to go from Jerusalem to Amman and vice versa. A private taxi from the Jordanian-Israeli Border (Sheikh Hussein) to Amman costs about 35$, a taxi from the Israeli side of the border to Jerusalem would cost you about 60-80$. Both cities are beautiful and are very interesting!

By the way, you can also take a plane via Royal Jordanian airways from Amman to Tel-Aviv, which is 35minutes flight.

Enjoy your trip!

It's not entirely difficult. My advice is to go with a guide or a group tour if you don't know the area. The other thing is the Arab countries don't always like it if your passport is stamped from Israel, so depending on your schedule, you might want to go to the Arab areas first, or ask the Israeli passport control not to stamp your passport.
